Things don’t look too bright for Chris Paul, Kevin Durant, and the Phoneix Suns. Especially with Scott Foster expected to be a part of their next game’s officiating crew. As all NBA fans are aware, the Suns are currently in the middle of a playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Despite not having Paul George and playing on the road for the first game of this matchup, the Clippers managed to win Game 1 at Phoenix. The Suns were clearly looking to defend homecourt and had already given up one game. Although they will be expected to win in the next game, one should wonder if Foster and his alleged dislike of Chris Paul will affect Phoenix.
Chris Paul has a record of 17-2 in games officiated by NBA referee Scott Foster
Despite being at the backend of his career, there is no denying that Chris Paul has cemented his legacy as one of the best point guards in the NBA. One of the only blemishes in his career is the lack of a championship ring. Perhaps Scott Foster has played a hand in ensuring that.
The numbers certainly seem to back it up. According to the reports, Chris Paul’s games have been officiated by Foster 19 times so far in the postseason. He has only won 2 of those games and lost the other 17. In fact, he will be looking to end a 14-game losing streak in games officiated by Scott Foster.
In the last 14 playoff games that Scott Foster has officiated, Chris Paul has NEVER won.

Fans should certainly wonder if Foster holds any personal grudge against Paul or other players across the league. It was once reported that players disliked him most among all other referees. He is characterized as a man with a short fuse who doesn’t believe he is in the wrong. Therefore, he is quick to issue technical fouls when players decide to argue with him.
That is something that Chris Paul clearly does and should probably prevent himself from doing in Game 2. His team will have to defend homecourt before the series moves to Los Angeles. After all, very few teams can win a series after losing both home games to start it off. We hope to see clean officiating and behavior from both the players and officials for this important match.
