Manny Pacquiao (62-7-2, 39 KOs) has shared the boxing ring with some of the best boxers in the history of the sport. The only eight-division champion in boxing’s history will take on arguably his toughest challenge of recent times in the form of Errol Spence Jr. (27-0, 21 KOs) on August 21, inside T-Mobile Arena.

Manny Pacquiao has cemented his position as arguably of the greatest boxers to ever step inside the boxing ring and will look to further cement his position as an all-time great when he takes on the undefeated Errol Spence Jr. for the WBC, IBF, and The Ring welterweight titles. However, it will be easier said than done.
Can the 42-year old hand Errol Spence Jr. the first loss of his professional boxing career?
Errol Spence Jr. is as tough as they come. Widely regarded as one of the best welterweights right now, Spence Jr. will look to make a name for himself with a big win over Manny Pacquiao. Spence’s performance against Danny Garcia was testimony that he hasn’t lost his touch despite the horrific car crash back in 2019. Pacquiao is quick on his feet, is explosive, and has the technique to take on someone as proficient as Errol Spence Jr.
Be that as it may, he would need a throwback performance to get the job done this time around. Errol Spence Jr. is swift in his movements and is known to not get hit. Even going against someone as credible as Danny Garcia, after a huge break from boxing, Errol Spence Jr. showed that he is still one of the most technical boxers out there.

Additionally, at 42 years of age, there’s every reason to believe that Manny Pacquiao is not the same boxer he once used to be. While knocking out Spence Jr. seems unlikely, Pacquiao also has the challenge to keep up with the activity of Spence Jr.
Manny Pacquiao, despite a great start against Keith Thurman in his last fight, slowed down considerably in the later rounds. While he did get the win eventually via split decision, it showed that if you can survive and manage to win the rounds against Manny in the first half of the bout, there’s every reason to believe you can get the job done.
While a decision win for Spence Jr. looks likely, I believe the current welterweight champion stops Manny Pacquiao for the first time since that shocking loss against Marquez.
