Why was Gervonta Davis arrested?
On December 27, 2022, ‘Tank‘ was arrested and jailed in Parkland, Florida on the counts of causing bodily harm. A woman who identified herself as the mother of Davis’ child placed a 911 call, claiming she was in danger as she strived to get outside her car.
The woman turned out to be none other than Vanessa Posso, an Instagram model, and influencer. The duo has been in a relationship for a long time, even sharing a daughter together named Giovanna Thalia. As per reports, the heavy-hitter struck Vanessa on the right side of her head using what the police described as a “closed hand type slap.”
The blow left the 34-year-old with a small abrasion to the inside of her upper lip. TMZ released an exclusive audio clip of the frantic phone call that Vanessa made during the night of the alleged incident. Posso can be heard saying, “Please help me, I need help, please! I’m trying to go home. I have my baby in the car and he attacked me in front of the kid. And now he’s messing up my tires. He’s going to kill me!”
However, the incident took an unexpected turn when Vanessa walked back on her claims. Soon after which, the officials released Davis from custody.
Vanessa Posso claims Gervonta never harmed her or their daughter
Vanessa, the mother of Gervonta Davis’ daughter, retracted her statement right before New Year’s Eve. Posso asked the court to dismiss charges held against ‘Tank.’ The 34-year-old then took to Instagram to post a story in which she claimed Davis never harmed her or her daughter.
She wrote, “These past days have been hurtful, and extremely exhausting for all parties involved. I pride myself on being extremely private; this situation was the last thing I wanted to be made public.”
“The state of our relationship has been in a fragile space and Gervonta and I were both at fault for the argument,’ she continued. “While the emotions were running high I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement at an intense moment while I was frantic. Gervonta did not harm me or our daughter.”
