Whilst Jamaine has been in and around the weight class for most of his career, Lopez has quickly found his feet. Moving up in August 2022, Teofimo made his mark with a TKO win over Pedro Campa. Thereafter, the 26-year-old won a controversial split decision against Sandor Martin in an enthralling contest. Then, in his latest fight, ‘Teo’ beat Josh Taylor, winning as the underdog for the second time in his career.
How much money will Teofimo Lopez and Jamaine Ortiz make for their fight?
For the most part, it is understood that Teofimo Lopez will be commanding a big bag for this fight. Having gone into a self-imposed retirement last year, the boxer clarified he would only fight if his valuations were met. Thus, it is likely that Lopez is getting the biggest payday of his career in this fight.
According to sources at ESPN, ‘The Takeover‘ took home $2.3 million for his unanimous decision victory against Josh Taylor. Having secured the WBO and lineal junior welterweight titles, it makes sense that Teofimo will be securing a bigger payday this time. As such, reports suggest that the boxer will be making anywhere between $3 million and $4 million for the fight.

As for Jamaine Ortiz, there have been conflicting reports on how much money he has made in his fights. Whilst some reports suggest ‘The Technician‘ made less than $1 million, others believe he was guaranteed $2 million against Vasyl Lomachenko. Thus, it is expected that Ortiz, for his first-ever world title fight, will make a similar amount, if not more.
