Tommy Fury faces the biggest challenge of his boxing career this weekend when he takes on Jake Paul. The former Love Island star will finally take on “The Problem Child” and hope to make a statement. However, it appears as though Tommy has a lot of people predicting him to win.
Hollywood star Michael B Jordan is currently promoting his latest boxing film, Creed 3. The movie will see him star alongside Jonathon Majors and will also feature Canelo Alvarez. Ahead of its release on March 3, Jordan had a sit-down with BT Sport. In the interview, Jordan was quizzed about his upcoming film and a few other things.
During the interview, Jordan was asked for his predictions on the upcoming Paul vs Fury fight. “Ooh, that’s so tough. Fury, Imma go with Fury,” the 36-year-old says. Further, the Hollywood star also predicted Tommy’s half-brother and heavyweight champ Tyson Fury to win against Oleksandr Usyk, later this year.
As for Tommy, he faces an uphill task, managing the hopes and dreams of a lot of people. However, it is his father John Fury, and half-brother Tyson that have the highest expectations from “TNT”. As such, should Tommy fail to dispatch Jake Paul in a dominant fashion, he will have to face some consequences.
Why is Tommy Fury under pressure to win against Jake Paul?
As mentioned previously, John and Tyson Fury have high expectations from one of their own. Thus, they have previously declared that should Tommy fail to win against Jake, he will be disowned by the family. Further, Tommy himself has declared that he will retire from boxing if he loses to The Problem Child.
Moreover, Tyson has threatened to leave Tommy in Saudi Arabia and become a PT for Cristiano Ronaldo, should he fail to win. No doubt, Jake himself will have some more humiliating punishments for Tommy if he beats him. Hence, there is a lot of pressure on the British boxer to perform. Unfortunately, his performance against Rolly Lambert was nothing spectacular either.

On the other hand, Jake Paul has been collecting big wins, against the likes of Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva, in his last outing. Although many have often criticized Jake Paul for his opponent selection, he has finally found an actual boxer in Tommy Fury. Should he be able to beat Fury, there will be no doubts about his caliber and legitimacy as a boxer.
As for Tommy, beating Jake Paul will be a big step for him as his career is filled with wins over journeymen boxers. Should he win, Tommy will be able to solidify himself as more than an average boxer and be able to live up to his last name. Will Tommy get his hand raised on February 26? Only time will tell.
