Deontay Wilder encountered a tough night out during his latest fight. Unfortunately, after being unable to get out of first gear, Wilder lost to Joseph Parker on points. However, things did not end there, as fans online also began lumping in on the boxer.
For those unaware, ‘The Bronze Bomber‘ recently took on Joesph Parker in the co-main event of the “Day of Reckoning”. Headlined by Anthony Joshua and Otto Wallin, there was a major belief that Wilder should have been in the main event. As such, there were plans to have Joshua and Wilder face each other in a mega-fight in the future.
Unfortunately, it was not to be, as Wilder had a slow day at the office and struggled to get going. Although it was expected that Parker would be more active, Deontay is always expected to utilize his immense power. On the night, it felt as though fans inside the Kingdom Arena and worldwide were left frustrated as they waited for that big power shot that never came.
Owing to a long layoff since his win against Robert Helenius, Wilder blamed ring rust for his performance. Now 38, there was a growing belief that the former WBC heavyweight champ was losing his touch. However, many still favored Wilder for his one-punch KO ability. Whilst he still retains that power, it is clear that his abilities are certainly waning.
Fans troll Deontay Wilder for his skinny legs
As mentioned previously, the “Day of Reckoning” was seen as a build-up to an eventual Joshua-Wilder fight. With both parties agreeing to terms and putting pen to paper already, they simply needed to overcome one last hurdle. Whilst Anthony Joshua made a triumphant return against Otto Wallin, the same could not be said for Wilder.
To make matters worse, fans online saw Deontay’s loss as a means to lump in on him some more. In the past, there has been a lot of talk, specifically about Deontay Wilder’s legs. Although he stands at a gargantuan 6 feet 7 inches, the boxer has always been called out and trolled for his skinny legs. Naturally, during his fight against Parker on December 23, the same was once again brought to fans’ attention.

Taking to ‘X’ fans relentlessly went after the 38-year-old. One fan wrote, “Blud is walking on stilts” whilst another followed up with, “I’ve seen stronger legs on an end table”. Keeping the trend going, another user suggested, “One calf kick from @francis_ngannou and he would be folded” and “Bro never seen a leg day”. Although the comments may seem unruly, they have become regular every time Wilder fights.
Previously, the topic of his legs also came up when rumors emerged of a potential MMA fight with Francis Ngannou. With the Cameroonian making a strong case for himself against Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder threw his name in the hat, challenging Ngannou in his own sport. At the time, fans began taking notice of Wilder’s legs, trashing him for his disproportionate features and top-heavy appearance.
