Jake Paul and Conor McGregor are more similar to each other than one may perceive. They are both flamboyant loudmouths who can and will get under your skin if you give them an inch. Recently, in an interview with Ariel Helwani, Paul labeled McGregor an alcoholic. Stating his troubles outside the octagon as reasons for their inability to face off.
In the interview with Helwani, he said, “He don’t want this smoke, he’s a alcoholic, he’s a drug addict.” According to The Problem Child, McGregor is burdened with legal troubles, which stemmed from his drinking habit. He is also of the opinion that ‘The Notorious’ is too focused on staying out of jail, instead of getting back in the ring.

The incident Paul alludes to happened in June. Recently, the former featherweight champion of the UFC was accused of s*xual assault at Game 4 of the NBA finals in Miami. The claims were called into question when footage contradicted the woman’s statement. This also threatened her credibility, as she even sought a settlement for McGregor’s team. As of now, no charges have been filed.

Incidentally, Paul has been gunning for a fight with The Notorious ever since his win against NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. During that time, Paul claimed to offer McGregor $50 million for the fight.
Unfortunately for Paul, McGregor considered him nothing but a nuisance at the time. Over the years, the two have gone back and forth on social media, but a fight between the two has never materialized. Recently, Paul even went as far as challenging McGregor to an MMA fight. In an interview with talkSPORT, Paul had this to say about McGregor: “When I knock out Nate Diaz I think that Conor McGregor is gonna see me, want a pay day, and come and get knocked out.”
When further inquired if it would be a boxing match, ‘The Problem Child’ in his overconfident manner intimated that he would even consider a fight under MMA rules. In order to even contemplate a fight with McGregor, the YouTube boxer would have to defeat Nate Diaz over the weekend. The Stockton-born fighter has already fought McGregor twice, securing a win by submission in their first encounter at UFC 196.
Can Conor McGregor overcome his recent troubles and make a comeback?
The Irishman has been embroiled in one controversy after another, especially since being out of the Octagon. Consequently, Jake Paul has blamed McGregor’s behavior on his affinity for alcohol. Yet he still seeks a fight against the Irish fighter. In the past, Paul has stooped as low as one can, to goad McGregor into the ring. In a video challenging McGregor, he said, “You’re probably j*rking off because you’re sick of f*cking your wife. She’s a 4, you can do much better.”

Even though those insults didn’t work back then, Paul still continues with his shenanigans. Hoping that one day he can get the Irish fighter in the ring.
