Eric Marlon Bishop, or Jamie Foxx as he is popularly known, is successful as a singer and comedian. Jamie Foxx was awarded Academy Award for best actor in 2005.
Foxx, along with other things is popular for acing the impressions of the legendary boxer Mike Tyson. Hence, after a lot of talks and discussions, Jamie Foxx was finalized to star in the biopic of Tyson. Jamie Foxx talked about appearing on a biographical TV show based on Tyson during multiple interviews over the years.
In one such interview, he even described the opening scene of the biopic. So he describes the starting scene to be at a boxing gym, where Tyson used to practice as a kid.
“You see a hulking figure holding focus mits and a little kid hitting the mits. And you hear the kid asking the hulking figure ‘My dad said you were amazing. My dad said you was the best, the boss…’ And you hear the person say, ‘Don’t worry about what your dad said, just throw your right ad make sure to keep left through get your head knocked off.”

Foxx further adds that the kid gets knocked off and then the scene transitions to Tyson being in the ring of the last fight he got knocked out.
“He rests back on the ropes and sees everybody talking sh**. Everybody’s saying get up Mike. Some people say you a bum, all the things people were saying. And he rests on the rope, spits his mouthpiece out and he goes calm… And we flashback to the young time.“
Is Jamie Foxx still starring in Mike Tyson’s Biopic?
Judging by the recent developments, Jamie Foxx could drop out from Mike Tyson’s biopic due to health conditions. The limited series was prepared as a result of the joint efforts of Jamie Foxx and Martin Scorsese. The role of Jamie was finalized in 2015.
But in his recent appearance on the PBD podcast, Mike Tyson revealed Jamie Foxx could exit the project because of having certain health problems, stroke being one of them.
“He’s not feeling well. They said a stroke. I have no idea what happened to him. Hey, listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath. We don’t know when we are gonna die. … After we leave, this bad stuff can happen.”

Along with this, Tyson also opened up about the impacts Foxx’s health issues could have on the show. The former undisputed heavyweight champion was not sure whether Foxx could continue playing the role anymore.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen now. But, you know, it’s a strong possibility. Jamie’s closer to my age, so in order to do him, they were going to do what they did with ‘Benjamin Button.’ They were going to make him look younger.”
But Tyson wants Jamie to play him in his biopic and says he’s still optimistic about it.
