Dillon Danis is an MMA fighter with a pro-record of 2-0 in Bellator MMA. He is known to be one of the most controversial personalities in the combat sports community because of his harsh callouts and trash-talking. He has often been engaged in several arguments and fights, both online and offline.
One more reason why Danis is not loved by many is his association with some dubious social media scams that got exposed recently. While he had done multiple of these in the past, it all got attention when he got exposed by popular YouTube detective and journalist Coffeezilla.
Stephen Findeisen, who is popularly known as ‘Coffeezilla’, posted a YouTube video on February 6, 2023, titled “I Scammed Dillon Danis”. In the video, the YouTuber states that he tricked Dillon Danis to promote his own alleged scam for an upfront fee of $1000. He did it through a fake NFT website.
A digital token known as an NFT, or nun-fungible token, is a special identification number that cannot be duplicated, replaced, or divided. The majority of NFTs are a part of the Ethereum blockchain, a cryptocurrency similar to bitcoin; however, unlike bitcoin, the blockchain of Ethereum also keeps accounts of NFT holders and traders.
Since 2021, NFTs have become incredibly well-known and popular, thanks in large part to social media promotion and endorsements by celebrities. The companies associated with projects like these pay huge sums to influencers and people with good social media followings to share the projects through their channels.
For people like Danis and other influencers, it is easy money, as they get paid thousands of dollars just for sharing a link and some text that is also provided to them.
CoffeeZilla tricked Dillon Danis into a fake NFT project
In exchange for $1,000, Coffeezilla conned Danis into promoting the fictitious NFT project SOURZ NFT. Dillon was obviously unaware that the website he was promoting had a secret agenda. Visitors to sourznft.com are met by a selection of screenshots showing all the misleading cryptocurrency campaigns Dillon took part in to earn that easy money.
The homepage of the website showcases that Danis has been associated with more than 20 dubious scams like these before this one, which got him exposed. Coffeezilla claimed that the main reason he decided to highlight Danis’ scam was to expose his hypocrisy.
Logan Paul has been often bashed by Danis for his disastrous cryptocurrency project CryptoZoo, calling Paul a “scumbag” and accusing him of defrauding his fans. Findeisen claimed that Danis had carried out the same exact action.
The entire project is fake, and if you “Mint it”, it takes you to website devoted to all the scams he’s done in the past. https://t.co/6WAfHPhp9y pic.twitter.com/qrfFTsY3Vl

While NFTs and blockchain technology are considered groundbreaking and are believed to be the next big thing, they have their own pros and cons. Unfortunately, due diligence seems to not be something that is being done on priority as fraud and NFT hacks rise.
