Boxing fans are eagerly looking forward to Anthony Joshua’s return this weekend at the O2 Arena in London. The British pugilist was supposed to fight heavyweight fighter, Dillian Whyte in an exciting rematch. However, there has been an unexpected change in events.
Whyte recently failed a drug test, which is why he had to be replaced from the card at the last moment. As of now, Anthony Joshua will be fighting, Finnish fighter Robert Helenius. The Nordic Nightmare is coming off a win from his bout against Mika Mielonen last weekend and looks forward to extending his win.
After his win over Mika, Robert had planned a vacation with his family. However, he is back into training mode after accepting the biggest fight of his career. He is set to possibly earn his biggest fight purse from his fight with Joshua as they share the ring this weekend.

Due to the significant alteration on this weekend’s card, a lot of factors have been changed. The event will move from a PPV format to a non-PPV format, which will affect the total payouts of both fighters.
Regardless, both Joshua and Helenius are set to receive huge paychecks for their fight in the O2 Arena on August 12. Let’s take a look at their revised salaries and total payouts.
How much will Anthony Joshua and Robert Helenius earn for their boxing bout?
Given the sudden change in the lineup, the event will be a non-PPV event. This means the fight will be available for DAZN subscribers to watch for free. However, it will also affect the fight purses of both Joshua and Helenius.
British boxer Anthony Joshua whom the card is centered around, will easily earn 8 figures. He is estimated to earn a guaranteed purse of $10 million for his fight against Helenius. If the card was available on pay-per-views, Joshua’s earnings would have easily grossed double his guaranteed purse.

The change in pay-per-view format has also affected Helenius, as he will only earn his guaranteed purse. The Nordic Nightmare has been offered a sum of $1.9 million for replacing Dillian Whyte on such short notice. A fight in pay-per-view format would have certainly ensured Helenius, to make double his guaranteed purse as well.
Both fighters will also earn a certain percentage of revenue of the gate from the 20,000 fans in attendance. Apart from that, the winner of the fight will also take away an additional performance bonus which will increase their payout.
If Joshua wins the bout he will land himself in a position to demand a huge paycheck for his next super fight. Meanwhile, a win for Robert would line him up perfectly for a shot at the heavyweight title. Who do you think, takes the victory? Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
