Since the end of the year is upon us, fight promotions around the world are pulling out all the stops. Keeping with the trend, we have a banger card lined up for us at BKFC 56. With many familiar names and veterans of the fight game present, let’s check out how much the main men will make.
For those unaware, BKFC 56 goes down at the Maverik Centre in Salt Lake City, Utah. Easily the best show they’ve put on this year, the event brings us many enthralling contests. Notably, Mike Perry will take on Eddie Alvarez as the headliner for the night. Additionally, fans will also see Ben Rothwell vs. Todd Duffee and Christine Ferea vs. Bec Rawlings amongst a host of other interesting fights.
While Mike Perry vs. Eddie Alvarez is purely seen as fan service, Christine Ferea vs. Bec Rawlings will be a featherweight title fight. Similarly, Kai Stewart will also defend his featherweight title against Howard Davis. Thus, it is clear that David Feldman and Co. have decided to go all out to give the fans value for their time and money.
Previously, the promotion received a lot of traction at BKFC 41, when Conor McGregor stepped inside the ring for a faceoff with Mike Perry. As such, the promotion has wasted no time in putting together another big fight for their star man Perry. To make things even better, they’ve gone and put a man who was the former UFC lightweight champion against him.
How much money will Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez make at BKFC 56?
Since his move to the BKFC, Mike Perry has accumulated a perfect 3-0 record. Having taken on some big names like Michael “Venom” Page and Luke Rockhold in the past, Perry has become a fan favorite in his new home. For the most part, “Platinum” has always been an entertaining fighter, but his 14-8 record in the UFC did not make for impressive reading.
As for his opponent, Eddie Alvarez is still newer to the scene. Having beaten Chad Mendes in his first and only bare-knuckle fight yet, the “Underground King” has openly embraced the opportunity to fight Perry. A decorated fighter in the UFC and other MMA promotions around the world, Alvarez still hasn’t lost his taste for blood.
As for their earnings, Perry reportedly made $250,000 in his last fight against Rockhold. Since then, the 32-year-old has gone on to claim that he has signed a very lucrative $8 million deal with the promotion. Although it is yet to be verified, Perry’s earnings as per the contract would be around $1 million per fight. Whilst it is an estimate, there are no accurate reports about the break-up of this payout yet.
Similarly, sources reported that Alvarez supposedly pocketed more than $600,000 in the fight against Mendes. As such, it is expected that he will receive a significant pay rise for this one Thus, it is believed that the 39-year-old will be making anywhere between $650,000 to $1 million for the upcoming fight.
