Slowly but steadily, Alexander Volkanovski has become one of the most notable names in the world of mixed martial arts, and his legacy as arguably the greatest featherweight of all time continues to grow. This weekend, as he takes on Ilia Topuria, in his sixth title defence, all eyes will be on the Australian fighter as he looks to make a comeback after suffering a brutal KO loss against Islam Makhachev in his last outing.

Ahead of what promises to be an incredibly stacked card in Anaheim, California, UFC 298 is sure to get the attention of fight fans around the world. Robert Whittaker and Henry Cejudo, former UFC Champions will also feature on the same card and it’s safe to say UFC 298 PPV buys are sure to hit a home run, and Volkanovski‘s past PPV record is only helping the case.
How many PPVs has Alexander Volkanovski sold in his UFC career?
The most successful UFC PPV in recent times has to be Islam Makhachev vs Alexander Volkanovski. The UFC featherweight moved up a division to challenge the undefeated UFC lightweight champion, and what followed was a nail-biting encounter with UFC fans still scratching their heads about who won the fight.
According to multiple reports, UFC 284 sold around 700,000 PPV buys, making it one of the highest-selling UFC PPVs of 2023. While much of the success for UFC 276 can be directed towards Israel Adesanya, Volkanovski did not have much success in terms of PPV buys in all of his three fights with Max Holloway. Moreover, the match-up against The Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega failed to garner huge moolah.
However, only recently, Volkanovski has emerged as a top player in the UFC. His continued dominance in the UFC’s featherweight division and a remarkable performance against Islam Makhachev has only upped his stock. While there are no reports regarding UFC 294 PPV buys, 500,000 is a fair assumption. Can his fight against Ilia Topuria bring in similar numbers? Only time will tell.
