Los Angeles Lakers are believed to workout in some rich man’s mansion during the quarantine. Pelicans guard JJ Reddick and Bill Simmons were discussing similar rumours on the Simmons’ eponymous podcast. They said the Lakers are rumoured to be working out in a ‘Staples Center’ replica court in a Bel-Air mansion. This mansion is apparently owned by LA Gear CEO Steven Jackson who also has championship banners and a piece of flooring from the ‘Forum’. Many NBA players have also used that facility in the past for their summer workouts.
Bill Simmons: “What are you expecting when people come back? Have you heard, there’s this L.A. rumour right now and I haven’t been able to crack it, of all the Lakers are playing at some rich guy’s house. And it’s all like, ‘Nobody talk about this.’ But have you heard about different rumours, and what teams are doing, and all that? Are you expecting people to show up out of shape? What do you think?”
JJ Redick: “All right, so in regards to the Lakers, I’ve heard similar things. Obviously, nothing has been posted on social media, supplying us with the evidence that we need. But there is a gentleman, I think his house is in Bel-Air, who has a Staples Center replica in his backyard. It’s a full-court, locker rooms, weight room, steam shower, whatever you want. I’ve worked out there before. My assumption is those guys are working out there. That would make a lot of sense. … Look, I’ve never played for the Lakers. You’ve seen videos a couple of summers ago, Chandler Parsons was in there a bunch, John Wall has been in there. Guys, if they’re in L.A, that’s one of the gyms we can have access to as players.”
Several reports have also sprouted up regarding LeBron James holding private practices with his teammates. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been making sure that their team’s fitness is on point according to Lakers Veteran Danny Green. LeBron was also photographed in a recent workout session with Sixers point guard Ben Simmons.

This season is very important for LeBron James as he hasn’t won a championship in four years. Also, LeBron doesn’t have a lot of time as he is nearing the end of his illustrious career. The season would be deemed a failure if the Lakers don’t win even with the addition of Anthony Davis. It seems like the Lakers aren’t taking any chances with their players and want the best team in the Orlando Bubble.
