Former world no.1 Venus Williams has been playing professional tennis for the 28 years and have earned 7 Grand Slam victories along with many other accomplishments.

The 42-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Australian Open due to an injury that was not disclosed.

Venus is said to have picked up the problem when competing in the ASB Classic in Auckland at the start of the year.

Williams has not yet retired from professional tennis, but another breakdown in her body and a lack of tennis in the last year indicate that the end is near.

Venus returned to the tennis circuit in August 2022 after a 12-month break, playing four tournaments, including the US Open, which were her sole events for the calendar year.

Williams had not won a WTA match since defeating Mihaela Buzarnescu at Wimbledon 2021 until her latest triumph over Volynets in Auckland on January 2.

Despite her recent bad results, Williams claimed she still has a passion for tennis after losing in the US Open 2022 in August.

"Many people have asked me, 'Are you going to play again?' I enjoy tennis and would like to play again; I will let you know when "Williams stated this on her YouTube channel.
