Mark Henry has a multi-talented personality. Besides being a retired pro wrestler, he is also a former powerlifter, Olympic weightlifter, and strongman. Henry is popular among the fans for his 25-year tenure with WWE, where he participated in several storylines and bagged many championships to his name.
In fact, Mark Henry was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Besides that, as a powerlifter, Henry won the WDFPF World Championship in 1995. Also, he won the U.S. National Championship twice, in 1995 and 1997.
In weightlifting, Henry won the U.S. National Weightlifting Championship three times, the U.S. Olympic Festival Championship twice, and more. In the meantime, the WWE Hall of Famer recently shared his best lifts, and here’s what he said.
Mark Henry opens up about his best lifts
Mark Henry appeared in an interview with Chris Van Vliet. During that, Van Vliet asked him about his best lifts. To this, the former WWE superstar stated, “My actual best lifts are not on Barbell. I mean I squatted 1006 lbs. I benched 601 lbs. I deadlifted in competition 903 lbs, Raw no equipment and I deadlifted 924 lbs in training before I did that 903 lbs.”
He added, “I snatched 182.5 kg, which is over 400 lbs and I clean and jerked 225 kg which is over 500 lbs. There’s only been about 3 Americans that have ever done that. And strongman, I won. It was the heaviest competition that had ever been created.”
Thus, it seems Henry has achieved an unbelievable feat. Previously, the lifting numbers of several WWE stars came into the spotlight. For instance, Roman Reigns can Bench Press 465 pounds, while The Undertaker can deadlift 500 pounds. In addition, Triple H can Bench Press 405 pounds, and John Cena can Bench Press 481 pounds.
Though the lifting numbers of popular WWE Superstars are quite impressive, they are nowhere close to Henry’s numbers. Henceforth, it can be understood that Mark has achieved an incredible feat that other WWE stars can only dream of. Meanwhile, here’s a quick look at Mark Henry’s records.
- Squatted 1006 lbs in competition.
- Bench Press RAW 601 lbs
- Deadlifted 903 lbs RAW in competition
- Deadlifted 924 lbs in training.
- A snatch of 400 lbs
- A clean and jerk of over 500 lbs

Mark Henry’s son is following in on his father’s footsteps and in style
While Mark Henry opened up about his best lifts, he also talked about his son. During an earlier interview with Chris Van Vliet, Henry, while talking about his son, said, “He’s on the way man, he’ll squat 700 pounds this summer. He’s about a 650 deadlift right now, 700 deadlift by next year plus 400 bench like he’ll be the strongest High School in the country.”
The WWE Hall of Famer added that his son dreams of being a professional wrestler someday. Thus, it seems Henry’s son has been following in his father’s footsteps in every way possible. As of now, during his latest interview with Van Vliet, Mark once again opened up about his son.
The world’s strongest man said, “He’s doing really well. Tomorrow he’s competing in the Texas relays. It’s the biggest track meet in Texas bigger than state and you know he qualified and he’s going to compete and I think he’ll do well, in the shot put…His life is consumed with being the best.”
It can thus be understood that Mark Henry’s son, Jacob Henry, has made a name for himself. It would be really interesting to see if he would ever be able to break the records set by his father. Till then, fans will look forward to more updates about Mark Henry and his personal and professional lives.
