There are very few people in the industry who can equal Randy Orton’s legacy in World Wrestling Entertainment. The 44-year-old appears to be in better physical form than he has been for the majority of his career. When many questioned Randy Orton’s future in the WWE, he once again silenced his detractors with his unmatched commitment to the sport.
In 2002, The Legend Killer made his WWE debut more than twenty years ago. He has since solidified his position as one of the company’s top performers. Along with becoming a 14-time world champion, Orton has twice been the main event at Wrestlemania. His career is unmatched by many, thanks to his extended stay with WWE.
He has also helped several wrestlers during their initial years and one of them was Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare is currently at the top of the company being the WWE Champion. His charisma and overall persona are enough to attract a lot of fans to the product. While his reign is decent at the moment, fans would love to see a classic championship match between him and his old storied rival.
Their partnership started way back in 2008 when they formed the Legacy faction which also included Ted Dibiase Jr. Cody and Orton have been close throughout Cody’s first run in the WWE with several rivalries and feuds under their names. The duo also shared the WrestleMania stage in 2010 during a triple-threat match between the members of Legacy which was won by the Viper.

As things stand, Orton is one of the most skilled and technically gifted wrestlers on the blue brand. A Championship match between him and Rhodes would certainly add more excitement and thrill to the already hyped WrestleMania 41 card.
The WWE Universe has already included Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes in their dream match card for WrestleMania 41
Several fans have predicted the match to be happening at WrestleMania 41, which will be next year. The WWE Universe is certainly pumped for the two old-time rivals to meet once again for the gold on the biggest stage. Orton is now too soon after his remarkable comeback from a severe back ailment to go to the heel side, but that shouldn’t be an issue by WrestleMania 41.

Although fans may be anticipating a match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, it is important to note that the two have a lengthy history together. The Viper and several superstars emerged to celebrate with Cody inside the squared circle following The American Nightmare’s victory against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. It follows that Rhodes and Randy are no longer fierce rivals; rather, their friendship has grown stronger as time has passed.
Fans, however, could enjoy seeing WWE rekindle their rivalry with the two Superstars. Given their shared past and history, the rivalry between The American Nightmare and The Apex Predator might be particularly interesting if that occurs.
What happens to Roman Reigns and The Rock if Randy Orton fights for Cody Rhodes’ title
While fans want Orton and Cody to go at it at WrestleMania next year, another huge rivalry in store is the Bloodline Civil War. As The Rock would be looking to hunt down Rhodes as he promised during his last appearance, he would be a big obstacle between The Viper’s chance to main event Mania. This however can be cleared when Roman Reigns finally returns to the Stamford-based promotion and lay out his cousin.
This would also follow a huge Bloodline civil war between Rock’s Bloodline and Roman’s Bloodline. While the WWE Universe have Rhodes and Orton locked in for WrestleMania 41, they also have one of the biggest main events in Roman vs Rock which might steal the show. The Final Boss and Tribal Chief would surely cross paths upon their respective returns and produce ‘cinema’ for the fans.
While Randy vs Cody might be the main event of the first night, the epic cousin vs cousin encounter will close next year’s WrestleMania. It all comes down to the shows of shows which happens to be in Las Vegas next year as a ton of matches with high profile stars would be in display.
