Mio Shirai, who is Sky’s elder sister, was born on February 14, 1988, in Kamakura, Kanagawa. Since her young days, she had a keen interest in professional wrestling. Due to her love for the industry, she started training at a young age, and made her debut in March 2007, at a young age of 19 years.

The Japanese in-ring star worked alongside her sister on the independent circuit for a number of promotions, and the duo established a reputation for themselves. After a few years, they joined hands with Asuka, previously known as Kana, in 2010. All three of them worked together as the Triple Tails stable.

The trio of Mio, Iyo, and Kana was doing wonders until Sky left. After her exit, the other two continued working together in the Japanese pro wrestling world. In fact, Shirai signed a four-way contract with Pro Wrestling Wave, Ice Ribbon, Union Pro Wrestling, and Oz Academy to take her career to greater heights.

It was probably a step in the right direction by Iyo’s sister, but her fitness didn’t help her continue with her passion. Due to being unable to perform to the best of her capabilities due to neck injuries, Mio eventually retired from pro wrestling in September 2015, at just 27.

Iyo Sky’s sister didn’t just announce her retirement as a pro wrestler in September 2015, but also revealed something major about her love life. Shirai told everyone that she was going to get married the following month, and it was later confirmed that her fiancé is none other than Japanese pro wrestler Tank Nagai.
Just about a month after her retirement, the two officially tied the knot in a private ceremony on October 16, 2015. About a year after her marriage with Tank, Mio announced that she’s expecting her first child. On June 18, 2017, Shirai gave birth to their child.
Moreover, the 35-year-old has been working as a referee since her retirement, which shows that she wants to stay associated the industry.
