WWE continued its build to the Biggest Night of the Summer, SummerSlam 2023, on the recent episode of Monday Night RAW. The episode aired from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and it featured several important segments to build for the upcoming PLE.
On this week’s WWE RAW, some spectacular matches were added to the SummerSlam match card. Moreover, the announcement of Cody Rhodes’s match against Brock Lesnar was probably the highlight of this week’s episode.
Alongside all the latest developments around WWE SummerSlam, the episode also featured a WWE superstar’s first RAW appearance since WrestleMania. The superstar was none other than former Tag Team Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Titus O’Neil.
Titus O’Neil was seen taking up the commentary duties during the Viking Rules match between The Viking Raiders and Alpha Academy. This was the first time Titus picked up the commentary mic since WrestleMania, as he helped Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves to call the in-ring action.
WWE gotta keep Titus O’Neil on commentary PERMANENTLY 😂😂

This man went from talking about Jesus Christ to calling The Viking Raiders musty in less than 30 seconds LMAOOOO 😂😂pic.twitter.com/0rd842dG8N
The SummerSlam match card is shaping up pretty well, as several high-profile matches have been announced for the upcoming PLE. The return of Titus on the commentary may be an indication that he will be doing commentary at WWE SummerSlam. It remains to be seen if he’ll be on the commentary team at the PLE or not!
Is Titus O’Neil retired?
Titus O’Neil has been a crowd favorite for most of his WWE career. He hasn’t won any world championships, but he’s a respected name in the company. Titus had several memorable moments in WWE, but his Royal Rumble fall tops all of them.
Titus O’Neil hasn’t been seen in in-ring action in a long time, as his last match was on November 9th, 2020. In this match, Titus was defeated by the then-United States Champion Bobby Lashley to retain the title.
While Titus has remained far away from in-ring competition, he hasn’t retired yet. This was revealed by the wrestler himself during an interview last year. The WWE superstar added that he will speak to WWE about his return, and he will surely return at the right time.
It would be interesting to see how WWE handles Titus O’Neil whenever he makes an in-ring return. Until then, he might continue making appearances on the commentary mic. If Titus is really going to make a WWE return, it should probably be done at the earliest, as the 46-year-old is not getting any younger. What are your thoughts about his in-ring return?
