SUMMARY
- Dwayne Johnson opened the go-home edition of RAW before WrestleMania 40.
- During his promo segment, The Rock showed a video package of children crying after his attack on Cody Rhodes.
WWE aired the go-home edition of Monday Night RAW before WrestleMania 40 from Barclays Center, and Dwayne Johnson started off things. What probably was the last episode of the red brand to build hype for The Show of Shows, The People’s Champion didn’t hesitate to continue his heel tactics.
In his promo during the April 1 episode, The Rock initially continued his verbal attack on his WrestleMania opponents before he turned his attention towards what he did last week. Referring to his attack on Cody Rhodes on the March 25 edition of RAW, Dwayne boasted about it.
Taking all this stuff to an extremely high level, Dwayne Johnson did something that nobody really expected. The Brahma Bull showed footage of children crying in TikTok videos after his savage attack on The American Nightmare. It was something that nobody from the WWE Universe saw coming, and thus fans were really surprised by this video package.

After this, Roman Reigns made his way to the ring, and the cousins started talking about their tag team match on Night 1. But it didn’t last long, as Seth Rollins interrupted their segment as they started arguing from a far distance. After a sort of verbal war between them, Rollins was booked to fight Solo Sikoa in a “Bloodline Rules” match on RAW.
Dwayne Johnson continued his attack even after RAW went off-air
As The Rock showed a video of kids crying after his attack on Rhodes, fans revised the kind of segment it was. In fact, the way the whole thing was booked, many experts believe that it was one of the best backstage altercations in the history of the Triple H-led promotion.
I hate constraints and bullshit rules – and just because some @wwe producer says, “clear” (meaning, we are no longer live on the air and the show is over) that doesn’t mean I just stop whatever I’m doing and tell everyone great job.
It fucking pissed me off. I can’t shut my high… pic.twitter.com/rIGh5GnaBW— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) March 30, 2024
While it’s true that the viciousness of Dwayne Johnson was visible in the way he took out Cody. But what made things absolutely insane was that he continued his attack on The American Nightmare even after RAW went off-air. In a video that went viral after that segment, The Brahma Bull can be seen yelling at the cameraman and attacking Cody Rhodes.
Is WWE heading towards a Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock feud after WrestleMania 40?
Even though the main event of night 2 is Cody vs. The Tribal Chief, the most attention has been given to Saturday’s tag team match. In fact, a lot of people believe that WWE has probably built this whole rivalry as if the feud is between Rhodes and Dwayne Johnson.
Amid the kind of attention the Triple H-led promotion has given to the story between these two, fans wonder if they are heading towards a Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock feud after WrestleMania 40. In fact, if we look at the exact scenarios that can become a reality after The Showcase of the Immortals, it seems highly possible.
As Rhodes is set to challenge Roman for the second consecutive year at The Show of Shows, the majority is certain that he’ll finally finish his story. But if that’s going to happen, Reigns might be going on a long break, and it leaves the stage empty for a high-profile feud between Cody and The People’s Champion.
As WWE has hinted at the same throughout the road to WrestleMania, it’s possible that it might be the plan for SummerSlam 2024. If that’s really the case, the pro wrestling world is bound to go on a ride after the 2024 edition of The Grandest Stage of Them All. But can The American Nightmare really dethrone The Tribal Chief? Or will Roman Reigns retain his title once again? Only time will tell.
