SUMMARY
- CM Punk made a special appearance on WWE RAW in his hometown of Chicago.
- During his appearance on the red brand, The Straight Edge Superstar took shots at a number of WWE stars.
CM Punk returned to WWE TV on the latest episode of RAW in Chicago, and what an incredible appearance it was. The Straight Edge Superstar received an insane ovation from his hometown fans, and the entire segment was one to remember as it also had the involvement of Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.
Even though Punk hinted at a potential segment with Cody Rhodes, it didn’t happen. But the things that actually took place on the March 25 edition of the red brand left a major part of the audience shocked. A big reason why the WWE Universe wasn’t able to believe what CM did during his promo was that he made a Vince McMahon reference.
It happened after McIntyre sat on the commentary desk, as they were both going back and forth on the microphone. In the midst of this battle of words, The Scottish Warrior referred to himself as previously being The Chosen One, and that’s why Phillip Jack Brooks lost his cool.

Interrupting Drew over this comment, Punk asked, “Who chose you? Who chose you? What was his name? You’ve got the balls to say you’re the chosen one? Tell me, what was his name?” This was a clear reference to Mr. McMahon, and McIntyre not being permitted to even speak out the name was what made it incredible.
It must be noted that Kennedy was accused of s*x trafficking in January 2024, and since then, the company has maintained a distance from him. The former WWE CEO even resigned from his position in the TKO Group, and it makes it understandable why McIntyre didn’t utter even a single word after being silenced by this major Vincent reference on RAW.
What else happened during CM Punk’s latest appearance on RAW?
It’s true that Punk‘s remarks about Mr. McMahon have grabbed a lot of limelight, but that’s not the only thing that happened during his appearance on RAW. CM initially interacted with the crowd, and then he called Pat McAfee out to talk about Roman Reigns recent appearance on his show and said he’d also see him pretty soon.
After this, Punk started talking about Seth Rollins and even made a reference to his decade-old feud with The Rock. As soon as he started to talk about Drew’s online shots at him and that he doesn’t reply to them because he handles his business live, McIntyre came out. Standing on the ramp, The Scottish Warrior started to talk about how he prayed for Punk’s injury.
After some back-and-forth between the duo, McIntyre went on to sit on the commentary desk as they continued the trash talk. But it didn’t continue for long, as The Visionary made his way to the ring. In fact, it was after this that the segment got even more interesting. They had a little verbal interaction before chants for CM Punk to be a referee at WrestleMania broke out from the crowd.
As soon as it happened, Seth pointed out that Punk’s counting arm was hurt, but The Straight Edge Superstar straight away dropped himself to the mat and counted with his good arm to tell that he’s alright. In the final moments of this segment, Rollins dropped Drew McIntyre with a superkick to send a message before their World Heavyweight Championship match at The Show of Shows in Philadelphia.
CM Punk is set to play an important role at WrestleMania 40
The Straight Edge Superstar’s promo on RAW highlighted his true personality, and fans loved it. But the veteran also made an important announcement about his involvement in WrestleMania 40. With the World Heavyweight title on the line, the match was already one of the biggest ones from the event. But the addition of CM has added a new layer to the bout.
