- After his return, WWE fans mocked Tje Celtic Warrior for his weight.
Sheamus made his long-awaited WWE return on the April 15 episode of Monday Night RAW and received a great reaction from the live crowd. In his first match for the company since August 2023, The Celtic Warrior defeated Ivar in dominant fashion and showcased how good he is inside the ring despite being 46 years old.
While a major part of the audience was praising him for his heroics, some people were trolling him for being way bulkier than his past self. The extent of such comments was so high that Sheamus even talked about it through his social media handle. But the Stamford-based promotion has now used the fatshaming thing into a storyline angle.
This happened on the April 22 episode of RAW, when The Celtic Warrior came face-to-face with Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior was already in the ring, and interacting, after which the 46-year-old in-ring star made his entrance, and both of them started having a verbal war. In fact, McIntyre went a bit too far in it, as he fatshamed the former World Champion.

Talking about how Sheamus was previously delivering spectacular performances, but now he has gained a significant amount of weight, Drew said, “Before you were injured, it was banger, after banger, after banger. But since you’ve returned, it looks to me like it’s been burger after burger after burger.”
Even though The Celtic Warrior reacted to these remarks by having a casual laugh, they might have hurt him. That’s probably why the veteran made a comeback in the mic war by stating that he can lose the weight, but McIntyre can’t lose stupid, and suggested him to stop blaming others for his own mistakes. After this, Sheamus got ready for his match against Shinsuke Nakamura, and Drew decided to be on the ringside for the bout which was eventually won by the babyface.
Fans react to Drew McIntyre’s fatshaming comments about Sheamus
As soon as Drew McIntyre’s fatshaming comments about Sheamus went viral on social media platforms, fans started sharing their reactions to it. Sharing how McIntyre was probably watching things that happened on Twitter since last week, someone said, “Drew was reading X last week and went for the kill.”
Pointing out how the current character of The Scottish Warrior is on another level, an audience member wrote, “Heel Drew is what society has always needed.” “This man is an evil genius,” another wrestling enthusiast commented while sharing how Drew McIntyre is absolutely insane.
Is WWE planning a short feud between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre?
Due to the way Drew McIntyre and Sheamus interacted on RAW, fans have been wondering if WWE is planning a short feud between these two veterans. In fact, The Scottish Warrior taking a dig at The Celtic Warrior’s weight might be a hint that they’re probably going to go up against each other in the near future.

Even though Drew is in an ongoing feud with CM Punk, as The Straight Edge Superstar is still not cleared for in-ring action, a feud with Sheamus won’t be a bad idea. In fact, McIntyre’s current heel persona can help the promotion make the recently returned in-ring star an even bigger babyface among the audience.
With Punk always being a danger to McIntyre’s success, WWE can even book The Celtic Warrior to win this feud to gain momentum. Moreover, CM becoming the reason for Drew’s loss will make their rivalry even more personal, and it can later implode when The Second City Saint gets 100% fit to perform inside the ring in the Stamford-based promotion.
