Roman Reigns and LA Knight are two of the most prominent names in WWE, and they are set to fight at Crown Jewel. The Tribal Chief will defend his Undisputed title against the fan-favorite star, and the match is expected to be epic.
But just a week before their bout, the two came face-to-face on SmackDown‘s recent episode. They met for the contract signing, but it turned out to be more than what fans expected. During the segment, Roman had to face embarassment, as LA insulted him by referring to a forgettable promo from 2015.
Taking a dig at The Head of Table, Knight gave a reference to the suffering succotash promo segment, and it was totally unexpected. After saying how Roman failed to win the top prize in WWE multiple times, the 40-year-old star said, “You were busy doing sufferin succotash.”

It must be noted that the segment LA referred to took place on the January 9, 2015 SmackDown. It happened when Seth Rollins was inside the ring, and Reigns interrupted The Visionary. He then called Seth a “sniveling little suck-up sellout full of sufferin’ succotash!”
Moreover, he admitted that it wasn’t easy to say this on TV and winked at the camera. The whole thing may have seemed cool in the first place, but what transpired afterwards was the opposite. The Tribal Chief had to face trolling for this promo, as it was very embarrassing.
As Knight took a dig at this past instance, it has made this rivalry a bit more personal. Due to the humiliation Reigns faced on this week’s SmackDown, he’ll be determined to take his revenge. Thus, it now becomes even more interesting to see what happens during their match at WWE Crown Jewel.
Can LA Knight really end Roman Reigns’ historic title reign at Crown Jewel?
With LA Knight being able to get an upper hand on SmackDown, fans wonder if he can really end Roman’s historic title reign. The answer to this question can be found only at Crown Jewel, but a recent report has enhanced this possibility.
After the November 4 match, Reigns is not advertised to appear at any WWE PLE in 2023. It has been revealed that after his upcoming title defense, The Head of the Table’s next PLE appearance will be directly at 2024’s Royal Rumble event.
Due to reports of such a long absence, fans are convinced that LA will win at Crown Jewel. It’s true that not being advertised for any upcoming event in 2023 is a big thing. But it’s also possible that The Bloodline Leader remains the champion and still does not appear.

Whatever the actual plan, it’s true that The Tribal Chief not being scheduled to appear after the upcoming PLE has made the match outcome even more uncertain. So, it’ll now be even more interesting to see if the Saudi Arabian crowd gets to see a new champion being crowned. Will it really happen? Only the future knows it.
