Roman Reigns made his WWE debut in 2012 as a member of The Shield. Everyone witnessing the debut hardly had any idea what would be in store for him almost a decade later. However, there’s one thing that has remained constant over the years and that is Triple H’s trust in Roman Reigns.
Triple H has spent almost forever inside the WWE ring, not only as a professional wrestler but also as a part of the authority. Back in 2013, he acquired a lot of authority by firing people from the division. Consequently, many people turned against him and he eventually had to hire Roman Reigns for his security.

During one of the editions of RAW in September 2013, Triple H stood in the ring along with The Shield. He announced that Cody Rhodes was being fired from the company. Expecting a major setback from the entire locker room, Triple H’s decision to bring The Shield was a complete success.
Cody Rhodes‘ firing was objected to by his brother Goldust, who too became a victim of the firing by The Game himself. This invited multiple interferences by the duo in the upcoming episodes of the same. However, Triple H was successful in achieving what he had intended with the entire series of events.
Did Triple H use Cody Rhodes to push The Shield?
Triple H has been a visionary ever since he entered the affairs of WWE. Seeing the potential in the newly debuted stars of The Shield, it was a perfect decision to push the faction in their budding days. As a result, Cody Rhodes served as a pawn in the execution of the plan. But was it really worth it to use Cody Rhodes to push The Shield?

Cody Rhodes’ firing was just a part of the then-ongoing storyline. In reality, he wanted to stay out of action because of his marriage to Brandi Rhodes. The couple got married while Rhodes was fired as a part of kayfabe. It thus gave the perfect opportunity for The Shield members to establish their supremacy in the division.
The trio of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley), proved why they deserved a massive push. Following the incident, the three stars went ahead to perform in singles matches and establish a great name for themselves. Despite being fired, Cody Rhodes did a lot to make his life, as well as the lives of the members of The Shield, better.
