Two year neck scans are in. Things are unchanged. My C1 has healed fibrously but has not formed new bone. I’m not medically cleared and truthfully, I may never be cleared. But I am blessed to be free of pain, immensely happy and otherwise healthy. Life is good.
The New Day star wrote, “Two year neck scans are in. Things are unchanged. My C1 has healed fibrously but has not formed new bone. I’m not medically cleared and truthfully, I may never be cleared.” In addition to this, the WWE worker confirmed that he’s now out of pain and is happy with his health. After this revelation, fans have been sharing their best wishes for Big E Langston.
How exactly did Big E get injured?
The former WWE Champion has been out of action since March 11, 2022, as that was the date when he suffered the freak injury. His injury took place on a weekly episode of Friday Night SmackDown when The New Day member was competing in a tag team match on the Triple H-led promotion’s weekly show.
It happened exactly when NXT star Ridge Holland attempted to deliver an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on Big E at ringside, but it didn’t turn out how he wanted it to. Amid the inaccurate execution, the 38-year-old in-ring star landed awkwardly on the top of his head and was later taken out of the arena on a stretcher, as it showed the seriousness of his injury.
Due to the recent announcement by Big E Langston, it seems like the botched suplex by Ridge might be the reason why the veteran never wrestles again. If that’s what’s going to happen in the future, it is surely going to be an extreme setback to the pro wrestler as well as his fans.
Big E didn’t go through surgery after his neck injury
The New Day star suffered a serious neck injury on live TV, and after initial reports and scans, he confirmed on social media that he had a broken neck. Additionally, Big E also announced that he had suffered fractures to his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae, but no ligament or spinal cord injury was detected in the reports.
Amid this, the veteran pro wrestler didn’t go through neck surgery, and it was shared that he would be on the road to recovery for an extended period of time. In fact, shortly after he suffered the injury, he announced that the doctors were hopeful that the WWE star would be able to make a full recovery.
But over time, he stated on multiple occasions that the C1 vertebra he fractured is not forming bone, and he might never get to wrestle again. The most recent scan results have also confirmed the same thing, and that’s the reason why Big E himself shared that his career as a wrestler might be over now, which is obviously bad news for his fans.
Even though The New Day member isn’t currently active as an in-ring performer, he is often seen interacting with fans at WWE events. In fact, he has even been rumored to make a return on several occasions, but it was never true. But as people praise him heavily for his work on broadcasting, it remains to be seen if he continues it permanently or not.
