The wrestling world has not been able to stop talking about the shocking departure of Jey Uso from WWE. The former member of The Bloodline chose to quit the Stamford-based promotion on last week’s episode of SmackDown.
Following the end of last Friday’s show, the Triple H-led promotion also removed Jey Uso from the current roster list and moved him to the Alumni section on its website. This seemingly was the confirmation that the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion had left WWE.
While people have been wondering what is next for Main Event Jey, a fan theory regarding the same has got the internet buzzing. It all started in this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. In the Fight For The Fallen special episode, one of the main attractions of the night was the first-ever Texas Chainsaw Massacre match. The bout was between Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett.
During the match, to everyone’s surprise, out came a masked individual with a chainsaw. That was one of the popular horror film characters, Leatherface. He showed up and chased away Double J’s wife Karen Jarrett.
Although he was only there for a matter of minutes, his arrival certainly got the fans’ attention. People began to speculate who it was. One particular fan claimed that it was none other than Jey Uso. “Let’s be real guys, it’s clearly Main Event Jey Uso,” the fan said.

There could be multiple possibilities behind why Uso left WWE. But could he have been the masked assailant? The simple answer is no, Main Event Jey could not have been the one under the mask, or at least AEW cannot reveal that it was him right away due to the 90-day no-compete clause.
Matt Hardy reacts to Jimmy Uso turning on Jey Uso
One of the main reasons for Jey to have seemingly quit the Triple H-led promotion is because his brother Jimmy Uso cost him the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
During a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the AEW star shared his thoughts on the match. He stated, “I would rather not see Jimmy turn on Jey in the big scheme of things. I love that Jey ended up making the decision to step away from Roman and go with his brother, and just for Jimmy to come back, I mean, it’s very WWE-ish.”
Before leaving SmackDown, Mr. Main Event got an opportunity to hear his brother out. Jimmy Uso claimed that the reason he cost Jey the match and the championship was that he did not want his brother to turn like Roman Reigns. This resulted in him getting superkicked by his twin for his actions.
