SUMMARY
- LA Knight is currently one of most loved in-ring performers from the Stamford-based promotion.
- The WWE star recently made an appearance on a popular YouTube podcast.
LA Knight is without any doubt one of the most popular WWE stars among the current professional wrestlers in the company. The kind of pops he receives even during weekly shows is a clear example of how big of a crowd-puller the 41-year-old has become in about a year.
While it’s true that Knight is currently one of the top names in the Triple H-led promotion, he also has some acting credits to his name. One of his most talked-about works as an actor has been his cameo in the popular comedy sitcom Brooklyn 99. He made an appearance in the show’s season 2, episode 17.
As the appearance was a very short one, a lot of people talk about this role, and the SmackDown star recently shared the true story behind it. This happened during his recent appearance on Chris Van Vleit’s podcast. In their conversation, the host asked LA about his journey as an actor, and that’s when he shared why his Brooklyn 99 role did not work out.
The 6-foot-1 revealed how he initially thought that his role in the show might do wonders for his career, but he didn’t even get any lines for his appearance. The veteran said, “I was like, It’s gonna be great. I’m like, it’s amazing. I get there, and they’re like, You don’t have any lines; you just kinda like facially reacting.”
Moreover, Knight added that when he saw the show on TV, he got barely screen time. Looking at his comments about the part he played in the show, it seems that the WWE star had better expectations from the role, but it didn’t work out, which would have been disappointing for him.
LA Knight once shared the screen with Dwayne Johnson
It’s true that the SmackDown star’s expectations suffered a major blow due to his role as Mario, but he once shared the screen with Dwayne Johnson. It happened when LA Knight appeared on TNT’s highly popular show The Hero in 2023, which was hosted by The People’s Champion.
At that time, the 6-foot-1 pro wrestler was still finding his path, and that’s why he participated as a contestant in the reality show. The 41-year-old revealed that he never thought of being on that show, but it was just attractive to him, and that’s why he went there to participate.
Knight revealed how he thought of forming a relationship with The Rock to get into the WWE. Moreover, he shared that it was probably just Johnson’s presence that led him there. Even though the fan-loved performer didn’t become a star due to that show, he’s now a brand.
Due to the kind of support he receives from the audience, it seems like the day is not far enough when he’ll be at the top of WWE. In fact, the 41-year-old has the opportunity to do it later this month, as he fights for the Undisputed Universal title in a fatal four-way match at Royal Rumble. Can he win this match to end Roman Reigns’ historic title-reign? We’ll surely find out on January 27, 2024.
