On October 17, 1999, Chyna made history by winning the WWF Intercontinental Championship at the No Mercy pay-per-view event. She won over Jeff Jarrett to become the first female Intercontinental Champion. In addition, she defeated Ivory at WrestleMania X-Seven to win the WWF Women’s Championship.
Real name Joan Laurer, Chyna quit the WWE in 2001 to pursue other opportunities. She worked briefly in the adult film industry before entering the New Japan Pro Wrestling. Tragic reason behind Chyna’s unfortunate demise
Joan Laurer passed away in 2016 at 46 years old. Anthony Anzaldo, her manager, discovered her dead at her flat. According to the first police reports, she might have overdosed on drugs or died from natural reasons. Anzaldo disclosed that although the WWE star was prescribed medication, she was not taking it as directed.

Chyna died from a combination of alcohol, medications, and muscle relaxants, according to the autopsy report. It was discovered in the toxicology results that she drank alcohol in addition to taking Diazepam. Her system also included other opioids including Oxycodone and Oxymorphone. Based on the findings of the test, she also took the anxiety medication Nordiazepam and the sleeping pill Temazepam.
