LA Knight was seen as the potential winner of the 2023 Money in the Bank. However, the contract match went in the exact opposite direction. Surprisingly, The Judgement Day’s Damian Priest won the briefcase and potential cracks were visible in the fate of the heel stable.
Talking about LA Knight, after a brief stint with Maximum Male Models, the 40-year-old realized that he won’t be getting success with that gimmick. Thus, he decided to pursue an individual career. Consequently, his first proper feud was against Bray Wyatt, which concluded with the Pitch Black match at the Royal Rumble.
Since then, it seems like the creative team has shifted their focus from the 40-year-old. Nevertheless, he has managed to get along with the WWE Universe as they are also rooting for him grasping a major title in the near future.
Recently, after the 2023 Money in the Bank, at an event in WWE Cardiff, LA Knight addressed his fans and teased a potential departure from the company.
LA Knight openly stated that WWE management had reservations about pushing him because of his age. He’s 40.
Yet, they seem to have no issue pushing Damian Priest as Mr. MITB, who, by the way, is actually OLDER than LA Knight by 3 months.

“Last night was my last match. If I was not coming out with that case, it was all over for me. I wanted to come out and feel this one more time in my gear, standing here in this ring, before I say goodbye.” LA Knight said.
However, the 40-year-old might be changing a gimmick as Triple H stated in the Money in the Bank post-event press conference that his rise is just getting started.
What are the plans for LA Knight if he decides to stay in WWE?
When Damian Priest unhooked the Money in the Bank briefcase, he received loud boos and jeers from the fans. The major reason behind the heat was LA Knight not winning the contract despite being a favorite. However, Triple H has confirmed that WWE has plans for the 40-year-old.
“I know LA Knight was a massive favorite coming in tonight, continuing that ascent. Great things come to those who wait, right? And I think that rise is just getting started.” said Triple H in the post-event press conference about the SmackDown superstar.

The return of Bray Wyatt is also rumored. However, if he returns he might be going for Bobby Lashley, who defeated Brock Lesnar at the Elimination Chamber. Thus, with Austin Theory being on the Blue Brand, the 40-year-old can challenge him for his United States Championship at the upcoming premium live event, SummerSlam.
