Gold medalist Kurt Angle and The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar are two massive names in the world of pro wrestling. Not only that, the two legends were once engaged in a thrilling feud with each other. It was a memorable one, and fans talk about it today.
While feuding with Lesnar, the duo once faced each other on WWE SmackDown in a ’60-minute Iron Man Match’. However, now it seems that before this particular match, Kurt Angle received terrible news.
Angle recently made an appearance on the latest episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ Podcast. There, he said that prior to his match against Brock Lesnar, he received a call from his brother. Angle’s world fell apart as his brother told him that his sister had passed away due to a heroin overdose.

He mentioned that the news crushed him since he wasn’t able to talk to his sister. He said, “I was crying, I was in such pain thinking about my sister..and the thing is I wasn’t able to talk to her, because I told her eight months prior if she doesn’t get clean, I’m not gonna talk to you. So I didn’t talk to her for eight months, and then this happens“.
He also added that WWE had been supportive towards him at that time, and they told him that participating in the scheduled match wasn’t necessary at that moment. However, he did participate in the match, and to date, his beloved fans think about it as one of the best performances of Angle’s legendary career.
Focusing on the career of Kurt Angle
Kurt Steven Angle, popularly known as Kurt Angle, had his fair share of ups and downs throughout his career. However, that didn’t stop the wrestling legend from delivering excellent performances and establishing a prestigious career.
After starting his career with the WWF/WWE in 1998, Angle made his television debut a year later. After performing for the Stamford-based promotion until 2006, he went on to make a name for himself in TNA. During his time with the Triple-H-led promotion, he has been a part of several memorable matches and has feuded with the likes of several Superstars. Not to mention, his exceptional in-ring skills have helped him bag a lot of championships during his tenure with WWE.
It’s been a long time since Angle took his retirement from pro wrestling. However, he keeps making sporadic appearances in the Stamford-based promotion. He was previously spotted inside the squared circle in January 2023.

Since then, Kurt Angle’s fans have been waiting with eagerness to see him on WWE television for a long time. It remains to be seen when the fan-favorite superstar will make his next surprise or planned appearance in front of his precious fans.
