In his post, The Rock first acknowledged the fact that he could no more say ‘Happy Father’s Day’ to his Dad as he passed away in 2020. “My old man died suddenly a few years ago. Unfortunately, we got in a fight about a month earlier and I never reconciled with him or even had a chance to say goodbye. So for me, every Father’s Day has become very tricky because there’s a lot pain,” Johnson wrote.
Nonetheless, The Rock also acknowledged that it is a special day for him as well, as he is a father of three amazing daughters who wish him and express their love towards him. The Great One also urged his fans to love their fathers when they are around, otherwise, they will feel regret just like him. “Happy Father’s Day. We’re all lucky boys. “I’ll take care of it,” he concluded.
The relationship between Dwayne Johnson and his father was complicated
In his autobiography, “The Rock Says…,” Dwayne Johnson shared that his father was not always present during his childhood due to the demands of his wrestling career. This led to feelings of abandonment and a desire for his father’s approval. Johnson also revealed how he once had an argument with his dad before he joined the wrestling business.
He recalled that Rocky Johnson was not with him on his decision to become a professional wrestler because wrestling was not as popular at that time. This led to a huge argument between father and son. Eventually, Rocky agreed to train his son due to his stubbornness.
Over time, Dwayne and Rocky worked on rebuilding their relationship and finding common ground. They eventually managed to mend their bond and develop a stronger connection. Despite the challenges they faced, it is clear that Dwayne held a deep appreciation for his father’s impact on his life and career.
