SUMMARY
- John Cena recently made a special appearance on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast.
- During his interview, The Cenation Leader talked about legendary in-ring career and future plans.
The WWE Universe refers to John Cena as one of the greatest ever to enter the industry, and there’s no doubt about it. The Cenation Leader started his journey as a youngster in early 2000’s, but he’s now a 16-time WWE Champion, and stands among the top stars in the world.
While Cena has been highly successful, he’s been a part of some controversies throughout his career. Among all such incidents, his involvement in the dramatic end to Royal Rumble 2005 probably tops that list. It’s been nearly two decades to that infamous finish, and John has finally come out clean on the drama with Dave Bautista during that encounter.
The 46-year-old opened up on that saga during his appearance on the Impaulsive podcast. During the interview, the legend talked about his future plans, and that’s when Logan Paul questioned him about the controversy that arose after Cena and The Animal were eliminated from the Royal Rumble at the same time.
John Cena reveals why he fumbled the spot
As The Maverick asked the pro wrestling legend about the drama with Bautista, The Cenation Leader was quick to share his comments about the 2005 match. Cena said, “I know I f*cked up and we know that that’s not the way it’s supposed to go.” It shows that the ending was not supposed to be the way it actually happened, and it was a sudden botch.

It must be noted that in the final moments of that year’s Royal Rumble match, John and Batista were the last remaining participants. Both of them were brawling on the apron, but in a sudden turn of events they suddenly tumbled to the floor at the same time.
This spot ended up creating uncertainty about who the actual winner was. It was something nobody was expecting, and that’s why a lot of confusion was built through this controversial finish.
Cena is still in disbelief after 19 years later on what Vince McMahon did at the event
Initially the referees were arguing about who the Royal Rumble 2005 winner was mong Dave and Cena, but then Vince McMahon came out to give a solution. As the legendary pro wrestling figure entered the ring, he tore his two quads, and The Cenation Leader is still in disbelief on what Vincent did at the event in 2005.
Despite being embarassed due to the torn quads, Mr. McMahon ordered the referees to restart the match from a seated position. It was something really shocking and the 16-time WWE Champion acknowledged it during his interview with Logan Paul.
The 46-year-old said, “That’s got to be one of the greatest moments in WWE history, I cannot believe Vince with two torn quads was able to speak to us in understandable dialect and tell us exactly what to do. We had the best seat in the house.”
Looking at Cena’s comments it’s evident that he is still in disbelief about what Vince pulled up 19 years ago. In fact, the way Mr. McMahon handled the situation was very commendable. Even though the 78-year-old is no longer an on-screen figure in the Stamford-based promotion, he still has John’s respect, and the fan-favorite star has shown it once again.
