SUMMARY
- WWE recently released Jinder Mahal from contract along with the Indus Sher.
- Afterwards, many WWE stars took to social media to show their support for the released wrestlers including a former champion.
Jinder Mahal‘s WWE release has become a trending news in the pro wrestling community. Having featured in some short yet important programs with The Rock and Seth Rollins earlier this year, The Maharaja’s WWE release appeared as a massive shock for the fans.
Aside from Mahal, the company has also parted ways with his Indian stablemates, Veer Mahaan and Sanga. WWE letting go of all their premier Indian Superstars does raise some questions over the integrity of the organization.
There was great sympathy for Jinder Mahal and Xia Li specifically following their WWE releases.

While the company has some valid reasons for its decision, the truth remains that WWE didn’t fully utilize these talents to their full potential.
Drew McIntyre and other WWE Superstars show support for Jinder Mahal and Indus Sher
As Jinder Mahal’s former 3MB stablemate, Drew McIntyre has extended his support to The Modern Day Maharaja on social media. McIntyre, who is currently negotiating a deal with WWE, broke his heel persona to show compassion for his longtime friend.
Tweeting about Jinder’s unfortunate release, The Scottish Warrior encouraged the former WWE Champion to keep the spirit of 3MB alive and prove the doubters wrong yet again.

Reacting to The Chosen One’s heartfelt message, Jinder Mahal referred to the 3MB brotherhood as “Comeback Kings.”
A veteran of the women’s division, Natalya also took to social media to shower praise on Jinder Mahal’s stay in the WWE. Reminiscing the time when they both held world championships, The Queen of Harts expressed her gratitude to Mahal for being a great friend throughout.
Raj is the best. Appreciate his friendship and advice so much- and always looking out for me on crazy travel days. He would never ever let me put my suitcase in the overhead of the plane without helping me. A friend for life. Proud of you @JinderMahal 🙏 pic.twitter.com/vW2DQ9yio0

Aside from McIntyre and Natalya, It was Chelsea Green who gave Mahal his flowers on social media.
From Canadian indies ➪ breaking my collarbone in India ➪ every city imaginable with WWE… there’s no better person to do it alongside. @JinderMahal I’d say ‘Goodluck’… but you don’t need it, Comeback King 🇨🇦♥️🙌🏼 pic.twitter.com/y05X54DUrA

Green recalled going around the world with Jinder Mahal, from the Canadian Indie circuit to the grand stage of WWE. She also brought up the collarbone injury she suffered in India and how The Maharaja was there to help her along the way.
The release of Indian WWE wrestlers: Exploring the two sides of the story
WWE’s decision to cut ties with Jinder Mahal’s Indus Sher faction raised some eyebrows. Despite not being utilized consistently, Mahal was a reliable talent that could generate legitimate heel heat.
Truthfully, WWE has not booked their Indian talents in any prominent storyline for several years now. It is understandable on WWE’s part to let go of the talents, who they never had any plans for.
The situation mirrors the release of former WWE Superstar Mansoor, who was the only Saudi Arabian talent employed by WWE. With the company now moving ahead with a more story-driven approach, parting ways with the characters they do not have any roles for seems justified.
I Quit. Maharaja Out 💰.

On the other hand, Mahal and Indus Sher can not be called wrong for being disappointed and frustrated. Despite their long stay in the company, the group was never really allowed to break out of the outdated foreign heel gimmick.
If the management had capitalized on the notoriety that Mahal gained as WWE Champion, they would have gotten a proven superstar to help them seize the Indian market. While the situation seems unfortunate, it does not take away from the immense potential the Indian group has. It would be interesting to see where the trio show up next once their 90-Days non-compete clause ends.
