WWE held its Biggest Party of the Summer at Ford Field Stadium in Detroit, and it was one of the most hyped events of the Triple-H-led promotion in recent memory. WWE SummerSlam had its high moments, but a major portion of the WWE universe believes the event wasn’t able to live up to the massive hype it had.
The Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso was probably the highlight of the night. It was a great main event, but the WWE universe isn’t too happy with how the rest of the night went. Thus, it’s clear that fans are upset with the Stamford-based promotion’s booking at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

Expressing their disappointment over the latest PLE, fans showed how upset they are with WWE COO Triple H following the end of SummerSlam 2023. Describing the recent PLE, a user wrote, “How lame. #SummerSlam.” “No returns not even one and by seeing reviews of #SummerSlam, it was really mid, ” another fan expressed. A WWE fan said, “Worst SummerSlam ever. That was boring AF.” (Via- X)
Despite the backlash the company is receiving from some fans, it cannot be denied that the event has some great moments too. Starting from the high-flying action in the kick-off match between Logan Paul and Ricochet to the unexpected ending of the Tribal Combat, SummerSlam had its moments. However, it seems fans had higher expectations from the event, and their expectations not coming into reality has upset them.
Dakota Kai and Jimmy Uso made their return at WWE SummerSlam
Some of the fans have been sharing their disappointment about how WWE didn’t plan even a single return at SummerSlam. But it seems those fans didn’t have their full attention on the PLE, as the Triple-H-led promotion had not just one but two returns at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
The first return to the event happened after Iyo Sky‘s successful MITB cash-in on newly crowned women’s champion Bianca Belair. As Sky was celebrating with Bayley inside the ring, their teammate, Dakota Kai, surprisingly appeared from the commentary table area and joined them in the women’s championship win celebrations.
The second and probably most noteworthy return at WWE SummerSlam was that of Jimmy Uso. The former tag champion returned unexpectedly during the final moments of the Tribal Combat match and betrayed his own brother, Jey Uso. It happened when Jey was about to win the Undisputed title by pinning the Head of the Table, Roman Reigns.
Looking at the surprising betrayal of Jey by his brother Jimmy Uso, it seems that the former teammates will now be involved in a one-on-one storyline. It was only due to Jimmy’s interference that Jey wasn’t able to secure the biggest win of his career at SummerSlam, and he will surely demand explanations from his brother for his actions. It’ll be interesting to see how the Triple-H-led promotion handles this storyline and if it’ll lead to a high-profile feud between the brothers.
