UFC 291 is now done and dusted, and it was a highly successful event. The July 29 event was a night to remember for many, whereas others had to remember it for some lessons they attained, and one such individual is WWE megastar Ronda Rousey’s ex-boyfriend, Brendan Schaub.
The event wasn’t a very memorable one for the former MMA artist, as UFC fighter Dustin Poirier cost Brendan Schaub $10,000 at UFC 291. All this happened because Ronda‘s ex-boyfriend, Brendan, had a $10,000 bet on Dustin Poirier’s win at the event, but it didn’t happen.

The shocking information that Dustin Poirier cost Brendan Schaub $10,000 at UFC 291 was revealed by Brendan himself. During a recent fight companion, he had a $10,000 bet regarding the outcome of UFC 291 main event with his Youtuber friend Bradley Martyn, and Brendan chose Dustin Poirier for the bet.
Brendan had confidence that Dustin Poirier would win the fight, as he previously defeated his opponent, Justin Gaethje, in the main event of UFC on FOX 29. However, the result of their match at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City, Utah, came as a massive shock for Schaub. Poirier fell short in the BMF title fight against Justin Gaethje, and it cost Brendan Schaub a total of $10,000.
Dustin Poirier suffers KO loss at UFC 291
Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje was one of the most highly anticipated fights of UFC 291. But, the actual fight was quite disappointing for those supporting Dustin Poirier, as Dustin suffered a KO loss on July 29, at UFC 291.

This happened during the first minute of the second round of the fight between Dustin and his opponent, Justin Gaethje, when Dustin was knocked out with a brutal head kick. It resulted in Dustin suffering his first knockout loss since 2016, which left his fans disappointed. This loss has also removed Dustin from the lightweight title picture.
Even after all this, Dustin had a positive perspective during his appearance at the post-fight press conference, where he discussed his loss. “The Diamond” said, “We’re not at a funeral here. I’ve won life. I’ve already won. Where I come from, I’ve already won.” (Via: MMA Junkie)

Dustin may have lost his UFC 291 match against Justin, but this loss has taken their rivalry to one win each. Thus, everyone will now believe that they’ll compete once again in the future to complete a trilogy. It’ll be interesting to see if this happens. And if it does, when and where? The possibilities are endless, and it remains to be seen whether they turn into reality or not!
