Cody Rhodes introducing the audience to a returning Jey Uso at WWE Payback was probably one of the best moments on the show. As it was revealed that Jey would now be seen performing on RAW the fans were left elated, but this move came with a major consequence for the red brand.
As announced by Adam Pearce on RAW’s September 4 episode, someone from Monday Night RAW will also get traded to SmackDown. Although there’s no official confirmation of who it will be, fans are convinced that it’s going to be Cody, as he’s rumored to be fighting Roman Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania 40.
According to reports, The American Nightmare is set to return on SmackDown under a special stipulation, and it has given further air to the claim of his potential trade to Friday’s show. Many believe that Cody’s shift to Friday’s show could be a way of intensifying his possible feud with The Tribal Chief.

While many believe that Cody can do something major on this week’s SmackDown, it’s been advertised that he’ll be fighting Damian Priest. Even though the star could be making an appearance on the main show, his encounter against the MITB briefcase holder is expected to take place as a dark match. (Via: PWMania)
Amid all the speculations about his draft to SmackDown, his appearance on this week’s show could be the start of a great run on the 2-hour show. It remains to be seen if he’ll share any details about his rumored shift to the blue brand to focus his attention on Roman‘s Undisputed title.
Cody Rhodes may announce his shift to SmackDown on the upcoming RAW
The American Nightmare is reportedly going to appear for a dark match for SmackDown‘s September 8 episode in Massachusetts. But his appearance on the upcoming RAW is expected to be a major one, as it is being advertised as a return to the red brand for the performer.
As disclosed by the Stamford-based promotion, Cody is set to return to RAW during the September 11 episode. While fans are elated by his return news, they are speculating that it could be to announce something major about his WWE future.

With all the rumors about his potential move to SmackDown, many believe that Rhodes may announce his shift to the blue brand on the upcoming episode of RAW. If this is what’s really going to happen on next week’s show, it’ll be arguably one of the biggest moments in his stint with the Triple H-led promotion.
Whether the former AEW performer will announce his shift to WWE’s blue brand or not is obviously a thing for the future. But one thing is sure that he’ll continue getting great support from fans wherever he performs. It’ll be interesting to see what The American Nightmare will be doing during his appearance on RAW.
