SUMMARY
- Chad Gable officially turned heel on the April 15 episode of WWE RAW.
- To join the dark side, Chad Gable attacked Sami Zayn after their match in the main event of Monday Night RAW.
WWE had a spectacular showing in the latest episode of RAW, as several memorable moments took place on the show. Rhea Ripley’s injury became a topic of discussion after the show, but another thing that grabbed a lot of eyeballs was the Chad Gable heel turn as he attacked the Intercontinental Champ, Sami Zayn.
This happened after Zayn retained his title, as he had an incredible match with Chad in the main event of the show. As the Canadian-born performer was hugging his wife after the victory, Gable came out of nowhere to grab Zayn from his back and deliver a suplex on the floor.
It was obviously the confirmation that Gable has officially joining the dark side, and as he did it in Sami’s hometown to disrespect him, he received a lot of boos. But it seems like he’s now in even more trouble, as 61-year-old NBA legend has issued a serious warning to the 38-year-old WWE star after his attack on the fan-favorite superstar.
“You know what I was going to fly up there and whoop Gable’s ass. That man whooped his ass in front of his wife and parents.”

It’s none other than Charles Barkley, who did so, as he shared his thoughts about the segment during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. He said, “You know what, I was going to fly up there and whoop Gable’s a*s. That man whooped [Sami’s] a*s in front of his wife and parents. I didn’t like that at all.” (Via: X)
Looking at the comments, it’s evident that Charles was definitely unhappy with Chad’s attack on The Underdog from the Underground. Moreover, due to the way he expressed his anger, it remains to be seen if Gable responds to him or not. If the WWE star does, it’ll be interesting to see what happens next in this matter.
Chad Gable had a major role in Sami Zayn’s WrestleMania 40 victory
Even though Chad turned heel on the April 15 episode of RAW to take out Sami in front of his wife. But it’s important to remembered that he had a major role in Sami Zayn’s WrestleMania 40 victory against Gunther. In fact, he was probably the guy who helped Zayn build the self-belief that he could put an end to The Ring General’s historic title reign.
All this started after the Canadian-born defeated Gable to book his spot for an Intercontinental Championship match at The Show of Shows. After this, Chad was seen motivating The Underdog from the Underground on several occasions, and it was probably what helped him win the prestigious title at WrestleMania XL.
As the former amateur wrestler played an important part in helping Zayn win, the fan-favorite star gave him a title opportunity. But after not being able to defeat Sami Zayn, the 5-foot-8 in-ring star attacked Sami from behind, and this surprise attack by the American Alpha member has left the WWE fans shocked.
What’s next for the rivalry between Sami Zayn and Chad Gable?
With Chad Gable’s vicious attack on the Intercontinental Champion, that too in front of his wife, Chad has generated a lot of heat from the audience. In fact, many believe that he’s now among the most hated names in the organization. But fans have also been wondering what’s next for the rivalry between the former friends.
As far as the reason behind Chad’s attack is concerned, it was probably because he lost the opportunity to win the IC title, and he might again go behind it. But this time, his dark side will be with him, and that’s what could work in his favor to finally win a singles championship in the company. On the other hand, Zayn will be motivated to take his revenge from the heel-in-ring star.

Taking all these factors into account, it’s safe to say that these two are going to take each other to their limits in the next few weeks. But it’ll also be interesting to see how Sami Zayn responds to the beating he took from Chad Gable on RAW. Moreover, it remains to be seen how this storyline goes in the build-up to the promotion’s next PLE, Backlash.
