Dwayne Johnson has established himself as a reliable box office draw. Many of his films have achieved significant commercial success, grossing hundreds of millions, and even billions, of dollars worldwide. Some of his highest-grossing films include movies from the “Fast & Furious” franchise, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” its sequel “Jumanji: The Next Level,” and “Rampage”.
Johnson’s involvement in established franchises has contributed to his Hollywood success. He joined the “Fast & Furious” series in 2011’s “Fast Five” and became a key figure in the franchise, starring in subsequent installments. However, he left the franchise later due to some controversial reasons with his co-star. A few years later, he produced “Hobbs and Shaw,” which was the spin-off of his own character from the franchise.

In 2022, The Rock featured in his first DC movie “Black Adam”. The $100 million-budget movie was off to a great start at the worldwide box office. However, later, the movie failed to meet the expectations and eventually bombed. Speaking of box office figures, Black Adam clocked $393 million at the worldwide box office.
In 2023, the Fast and Furious team welcomed Dwayne Johnson back to the franchise. Following the announcement, the recent installment “Fast X” was expected to gain huge numbers at the box office. Nonetheless, the multi-star studded offering has been somewhat disappointing at the worldwide box office. As of now, the movie has crossed $360 million in 10 days, which is not much if you think about it.
Furthermore, Fast X has not been able to surpass Black Adam as of now. Henceforth, it remains to be seen whether the figures will increase in the coming weeks.
Dwayne Johnson returned to Fast and Furious after Black Adam failed at box office
Dwayne has been rumored to be in the first outing in the Fast X trilogy ever since the announcement of his return to the franchise. As a matter of fact, the wrestler-turned-actor reprised his role as Inspector Hobbs in the mid-credit scene of the movie.
Furthermore, Fast X is set to be a trilogy that will conclude the Fast saga as a finale series. This could very well mean The Rock will be joining the cast alongside Vin Diesel, John Cena, and others. Fans must be excited to see him on the big screen in the remaining outings.
Universal pictures have announced that there is going to be a part 2 of Fast X, and yes, Dwayne Johnson, aka the Rock, will return in Fast X part 2. Fast X part 2 will be in 2025. There is still no release date yet. Stay tuned for more movie information coming soon pic.twitter.com/xdRA9bbXXt

Prior to his official return to the Fast franchise, Dwayne’s acting career had been facing many hurdles. Black Adam 2 got canceled, and Disney reportedly parted ways with Johnson as well due to a $3 billion lawsuit. In that case, the Fast franchise could be a career revival for The Rock in Hollywood.
