SUMMARY
- WWE's roster is severely depleted after WrestleMania 40.
- Stars like Rhea Ripley, CM Punk, and Dominik Mysterio are out because of several injuries.
WWE superstars are known for entertaining their fans with their exceptional in-ring abilities and promo delivery skills. However, sometimes, while trying to entertain the fans, some of the superstars get injured. While some of the injuries get healed within a few days, severe injuries take months to heal.
An injured superstar goes on a hiatus from WWE television, thus making the fans sad. However, it becomes even more difficult if several superstars remain out of action altogether. That is what has happened to the WWE roster as of now. Currently, several superstars have been sidelined due to injuries, and fans are looking forward to their return.
List of WWE superstars who are currently injured
More than 15 WWE superstars are currently out of action due to injuries. This includes many top-level superstars. Also, the timeframe of their returns remains uncertain. Meanwhile, here’s a look at the top names of the Stamford-based promotion who are currently sidelined due to injury.
-
CM Punk
CM Punk previously made a return to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames. Following that, he made several appearances on WWE television and delivered many fiery promos. With that, he participated in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match at the namesake event.
While Punk became the runner-up of the match, it was later reported that he tore his right triceps during the match. This left him unable to compete inside the squared circle as of now. However, Punk is currently involved in a feud with Drew McIntyre, but due to the injury, they haven’t yet faced each other inside the WWE ring. With that, fans will look forward to Punk’s return to the Stamford-based promotion.
-
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is currently sidelined due to an injury. However, previously, he made consistent appearances on WWE television. Not too long ago, he was a part of both nights of WrestleMania 40. On night 1, he and Cody Rhodes lost to Roman Reigns and The Rock. On night 2, Rollins lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre.

Also, Rollins came out to help Rhodes in his match against Reigns in the main event of night 2. With that, following WrestleMania, it was reported that Rollins had suffered a torn meniscus in his knee and had to undergo surgery. Also, it was announced that he would be out of action for an unknown period of time.
-
Jimmy Uso
Jimmy Uso recently faced his brother Jey Uso at WrestleMania XL. With that, the outcome of the match saw Jey defeating Jimmy. Meanwhile, on the following episode of SmackDown, Jimmy was attacked by Solo Sikoa and debuting Tama Tonga. Thus, he was apparently thrown out of The Bloodline.
Jimmy Uso has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury. No details have been given details on how long he’s out, but it was enough to keep him out of the WWE Draft Pool after being booted from the Bloodline.

Following that, fans were looking forward to what would be Jimmy’s next step. But instead, it was announced that Jimmy had suffered an injury. However, the nature of his injury remained undisclosed. Also, the timeframe of his return to WWE television remains a mystery.
-
Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley was previously the Women’s World Champion in the Stamford-based promotion. She had successfully defended her title at both Elimination Chamber 2024 and WrestleMania 40. However, on the April 8, 2024 episode of RAW, Liv Morgan launched an attack on Ripley.

With that, it was later revealed during the attack that The Eradicator legitimately injured her right arm and was left unable to compete for the time being. With that, she was forced to vacate the title and go on a hiatus from WWE television. While fans are currently looking forward to her return, there’s no information available on when she will make her return to the squared circle.
-
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre previously defeated Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 to become the World Heavyweight Champion. However, after his match, he kept taking shots at CM Punk, who has been sidelined due to injury. During that, Damian Priest came out and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated McIntyre to become the new champion.

Moving ahead, Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, announced on his social media handle that McIntyre has re-signed with WWE. With that, Drew was all set to face Finn Balor on the May 6, 2024 episode of RAW for the King of the Ring tournament. However, he didn’t participate in the match, and it was announced that he had fractured his elbow. Thus, another popular superstar went on hiatus.
-
Charlotte Flair
It’s been several months since Charlotte Flair has made an appearance on WWE television. Previously, at the 2023 Survivor Series: WarGames event, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch defeated the Damage CTRL in a WarGames match.
Following that, Flair faced Asuka on the December 8, 2023, episode of SmackDown. During that, Charlotte suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. With that, it was announced that, due to her injury, she would be out of action for approximately nine months. Thus, it can be understood that Flair might not be back on WWE television before September 2024.
-
Dominik Mysterio
The on-screen chemistry between Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley is extremely loved by the fans. However, as of now, both superstars are currently out of action. Previously, on the April 15, 2024 episode of RAW, Dominik faced Andrade and suffered an injury during the match.
Following that, Mysterio appeared with a sling on WWE television. Thereafter, it was reported that he was injured and was set to undergo surgery. However, later, Dave Meltzer reported that Mysterio might make his return to WWE in six to eight weeks. He mentioned that Mysterio won’t be undergoing surgery and will treat his injury with physical therapy.

Thus, it can be understood that several top-level superstars of the largest wrestling promotion are currently out of action. Also, in addition to the above-mentioned names, WWE superstars such as Bobby Lashley, Asuka, Nikkita Lyons, Erik, Sonya Deville, Shotzi, Cruz Del Toro, Cora Jade, and Big E are also out of action due to injury.
With that, it remains to be seen how long before all the above-mentioned superstars make their return to the squared circle. Till then, fans will look forward to any updates about the injured superstars and will pray for their speedy recovery.
The absence of injured superstars is affecting WWE shows
Since several superstars are currently sidelined due to injury, their absence is affecting the shows. For instance, WWE recently held the Backlash 2024 Premium Live Event. While the event thoroughly entertained the fans, it had a rather short match card. Only five matches took place during the event. That might be due to the lack of availability of top-level superstars.
The Stamford-based promotion might have added more matches to the card if so many fan-favorite Superstars were not out of action due to injury. On the other hand, due to the injury to the Superstars, several original plans were scrapped.
For instance, there were reports that CM Punk was originally set to be a part of WrestleMania 40. However, his injury left him unable to compete at the Grandest Stage of Them All. In addition to that, fans will not get to see Punk and McIntyre squaring off inside the ring anytime soon due to their injuries.

Apart from that, Liv Morgan was supposed to be feuding with Rhea Ripley. However, due to The Eradicator being on a hiatus owing to injury, Morgan will now be facing Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship at the 2024 King and Queen of the Ring.
Thus, it seems WWE is in a tricky spot as the absence of the injured superstars has affected the WWE shows to a noticeable extent. Meanwhile, with many superstars still out of action, it remains to be seen how the largest wrestling promotion in the world plans to go ahead with its daily programming. Whatever the case, fans will definitely look forward to the upcoming shows and Premium Live Events.
