SUMMARY
- WWE has turned pro wrestling legend John Cena into a joke.
- Solo Sikoa failed to win a single match after his win against John Cena at Crown Jewel 2023.
John Cena has a multi-talented personality. Besides being a professional wrestler, he is also a famous actor and former rapper. Meanwhile, as a professional wrestler, he has been a part of the largest wrestling promotion in the world since 2001. However, in WWE, he is not a full-time performer and has been a part-time performer since 2018.
However, during his active run with the Stamford-based promotion, John Cena participated in many storylines and feuds. He also bagged numerous championships to his name. This includes winning the WWE Championship 13 times, the World Heavyweight Championship three times, the WWE United States Championship five times, and more.
In fact, Cena is a record 16-time world champion in WWE. Meanwhile, as of this writing, the Leader of the Cenation does not make regular appearances in WWE. His last match took place in November 2023 against Solo Sikoa.
Solo Sikoa, on the other hand, is also currently a part of the Stamford-based promotion. He is a member of The Bloodline stable and has been thoroughly entertaining the fans as a part of the SmackDown brand division. Unlike Cena, he is an active member of the roster and previously battled the Leader of the Cenation in a singles bout.
Previously, John Cena and Solo Sikoa faced each other in a highly anticipated match at Crown Jewel 2023. Fans were eagerly looking forward to the match to see who would emerge as the winner. Meanwhile, after a tough battle of over 16 minutes, Sikoa defeated Cena by pinfall. This received mixed reactions from fans all over the globe.
Thus, it can be stated that in recent times, the largest wrestling promotion in the world has turned pro wrestling legend John Cena into a laughing stock. Also, Solo Sikoa might stand as a perfect example of it. Here are some of the reasons for it.
Solo Sikoa hasn’t won a single match since beating John Cena
Previously, after Solo Sikoa defeated John Cena, many fans speculated that it happened for the betterment of Sikoa’s in-ring career. Many thought that defeating a WWE legend would provide Solo with an immense boost to his in-ring skills. However, that was certainly not the case. In fact, The Bloodline member hasn’t won a single match since beating Cena.
After fighting the Leader of the Cenation at Crown Jewel, Solo, along with Jimmy Uso, faced Kevin Owens and LA Knight at a WWE Live Show. However, the outcome of the match saw Owens and Knight defeat The Bloodline members. Thereafter, on the December 8, 2023 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, LA Knight and Randy Orton defeated Jimmy and Solo.
Moving ahead, Owens and Knight once again defeated Jimmy and Sikoa. Thereafter, Knight defeated Solo in a singles match. Again, on the December 15, 2023 episode of SmackDown, Sikoa was defeated by AJ Styles. Also, going forward, Kevin defeated Solo in a Last Man Standing match.
On the January 12, 2024, episode of SmackDown, AJ Styles, LA Knight, and Randy Orton defeated Jimmy Uso and Sikoa in a three-on-two handicap match. Moving ahead, on the January 19, 2024, episode of the Blue Brand, Randy Orton defeated Solo in a singles match. Thereafter, on the February 9, 2024, episode of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defeated Solo in a Dark Match.
Going forward, Solo was defeated by LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, and many more superstars. It is worth mentioning that, since defeating John Cena, Sikoa has fought in 34 matches and hasn’t won even one of them. Thus, Sikoa’s score stands at 0-34 since his Crown Jewel victory.
Thus, while fans thought Solo’s win against the 16-time World Champion would uplift his career, that surely didn’t happen. On the other hand, fans might find it funny that WWE legend John Cena failed to defeat Sikoa, who was defeated by superstars such as LA Knight, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Cody Rhodes.
However, it seems WWE has yet to give a push to Solo Sikoa’s in-ring career. With that, it is to be seen if the push will come sooner rather than later. Meanwhile, fans will look forward to more in-ring matches of The Bloodline member to see what lies ahead for him.
WWE has treated Cena like a joke in recent times
John Cena is a pro wrestling legend and has contributed a lot to the success of WWE. Meanwhile, in recent times, the Stamford-based promotion has treated the 16-time World Champion like a joke.
Previously, John Cena accepted Austin Theory’s challenge to face him at WrestleMania 39. During that, the Leader of the Cenation battled Theory with the WWE United States Championship on the line. However, after a tough battle between the two, Theory defeated Cena. Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that Austin Theory is a mid-card wrestler who successfully defeated John.

Moving forward, on the September 22, 2023, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cena defeated Montez Ford in a Dark Match. Again, on the September 29, 2023, episode of SmackDown, Cena defeated Dominik Mysterio in a Dark Match. Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that both of these WWE stars are mid-card wrestlers. Thus, WWE made Cena defeat mid-card wrestlers that too in Dark Matches.
Also, the Leader of the Cenation previously made an appearance on Grayson Waller’s talk show, ‘The Grayson Waller Effect’. During that, he was attacked by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa; however, he was unable to save himself from them. Following that, AJ Styles rushed out to save the 16-time World Champion.
Finally, Cena was defeated by Sikoa at Crown Jewel. Meanwhile, that was a match where John was featured as a laughingstock. Being a pro wrestling legend, he not only got defeated by Sikoa; the latter delivered nine Samoan spikes to the 16-time World Champion, and he was unable to counter any of them.
Thus, from the above-mentioned instances, it can be understood that WWE has been toying with Cena in recent times. Meanwhile, John hasn’t made an appearance on WWE television since his loss to Sikoa. Also, not too long ago, he talked about taking retirement. The pro wrestling legend announced that he might hang his boots before turning 50.
With that, it is now to be seen how long before Cena announces his retirement from the squared circle. Also, after treating John like a joke in recent years, it remains to be seen what plans the largest wrestling promotion in the world has in store for the 16-time World Champion. Whatever the case, Cena has a huge fanbase, which definitely looks forward to more updates regarding him and his noteworthy career.
