WWE NXT has been a come-and-go brand as such. Over time, NXT has, in return, buried stars with celebrated streaks and upcoming talents alike to suit the status and storylines of the brand.
Today, we look at three such NXT Superstars WWE has conveniently been set aside and brought back when needed. The list may surprise you with popular and silenced names alike.
1. Asuka
The promotion that gave us the now-reigning WWE Women’s Champion. Before she could grace the ring with three reigns and over-the-top gimmicks, Asuka was an NXT girl too. AAsuka proved her worth in the brand during her time there.
She settled a feud with Emma at the 2017 October Tables, Ladders & Chairs. Only after the WWE made sure that Asuka was worthy did they move her to the main roster. That is not always the case, and we will go through more bizarre main roster entrees.
Well, recently Asuka managed to climb back to the top of the mountain by defeating Bianca Belair. But her stay might be cut short as she is set to face Charlotte Flair for the title in a couple of weeks on SmackDown.
2. Nia Jax
Nia Jax is the rara avis we were talking about. Nia Jax was out of her element with NXT after somehow getting moved to the main roster, Jax proved her worth in no time.
She was drafted to the Raw brand on the 19th of July in 2016. Jax took down the likes of Alicia Fox soon enough. During the first three months on the main roster, she went through winning sprees and long-time feuds. Despite having several matches and capturing multiple championships in the promotion, Jax is mostly known for her constant botches.
3. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn
I loved seeing their reaction and the rest of the NXT roster’s reactions to Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn being drafted to the Friday night show #WWEDraft #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/Et3rdLhTvo

Alba Fyre (p.k.a. Kay Lee Ray) and Isla Dawn (p.k.a. Courtney Stewart) debuted in the main roster in May 2023. The duo lived up to their expectations by taking down Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon on May 19.
They were one of the top teams in NXT but have not been able to do much in the main roster.
Is former WWE NXT Champion Bron Breakker Perfect for the Main Roster?
Last night, on the 20th of June 2023, on an NXT Gold Rush special show, Bron Breakker challenged ‘The Visionary’ Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Both stars gave everything they had and in the end, despite putting a tough battle, Breakker was unable to capture the championship.
That was unbelievable 🙌@WWERollins is still your World Heavyweight Champion!#NXTGoldRush pic.twitter.com/lP0pm7jEsA

Breakker’s uncle is the legendary ‘Big Poppa Pump’ Scott Steiner. This wrestling is in Bron Breakker’s blood. The former NXT Champion has dominated the Black and Gold brand for most of 2022 and 2023. His physique and high-flying skills are perfect for the main roster.
Also, if he does show up on Raw or SmackDown he will be a great asset and can also open the doors for several fresh feuds.
