Over time, Tyson amassed quite a respectable following of his own. His fans recently began to speculate about his gender identity, comparing how he currently looks to older pictures.
Chris Tyson chose to address these murmurings directly on social media. Tyson responded to one of the aforementioned comparisons in which a fan Tweeted, “Bro wtf happened”. The Youtuber simply replied, “HRT, and it’s only been 2 months.” And in doing so, he gave fans some insight into why his appearance changed so drastically over the past months.

Chris followed up that Tweet with another that linked to his alternate account. The tweet he linked to contained information about his identity, which he confirmed as gender nonconforming (gnc). He wrote, “Informed consent HRT saved my and many others’ lives.”
He continued, “The hurdles gnc people have to jump through to get life-saving gender-affirming healthcare in a 1st world country is wild to me. Just let people make informed decisions about their own bodies.” Chris also confirmed that he had no preferred pronouns, changing his Twitter location to “any pronouns”.

Medical practitioners use hormone replacement therapy to replace a person’s hormones when they drop below baseline. Commonly used to treat menopausal and postmenopausal symptoms in females, it also has a lot of other utilities. It is frequently used by transgender women assigned as males at birth as a gender-affirming procedure. This involves administering estrogen and anti-androgen medication to block the production of testosterone.
The procedure leads to the development of feminine physical features as seen during puberty such as body fat redistribution. While it is unclear whether Tyson is receiving this treatment, the changes in his body point towards this being the case.
