Triple H has changed the landscape of WWE since taking over and fans have never been happier seeing the growth of the company with spectacular performances on display. WWE releases daily content across a variety of platforms, including social media updates, exclusive interviews, profile pieces, and highlight packages, in addition to seven hours of live television each week.
People have always argued whether the world of WWE is fake or not. Many have pointed out the mishaps and botches which occur once in a while during some of the matches. Fans have always taken their stand by stating how wrestlers get injured and the stunts which are performed are real. The world of professional wrestling includes scripted sports entertainment which is not completely fake, but scripted.
However, several haters still debate calling all the maneuvers fake. During his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, WWE COO Triple H had some wise words to say about his company and called out the people calling it fake. “we’re not a sport. We’re a movie about a sport or a TV show about a sport. “, stated Hunter. He further talked about how people get so interested in the storylines and drama which leads them to an endless array of clips and matches.
The Game further stated “People are so interested, in not only those storyline, but who are the real people behind those storylines? The drama behind it. If you’re younger or want to buy into it that much, the drama of the storylines.” It shows how people emotionally invest themselves in different storylines and get entertained in the process.
John Cena, Randy Orton and other WWE wrestlers who joined the ‘Wrestling is fake’ debate
Not only fans, but various WWE Superstars have also called out the haters who call wrestling fake and have shown their anger on several occasions. Becky Lynch reached maximum levels of popularity in 2019 when she won the first ever women’s main event at WrestleMania. During her feud with Ronda Rousey, Lynch didn’t hold back after Rousey called WWE to be fake in one of her promos.
During an interview, Lynch stated how she has been on the road for more than five years and hasn’t been injured once. She further stated how Ronda was crying about her injuries in her home and couldn’t handle how hard the business is. Fumed with anger, Lynch didn’t hold back in defending her stand and called out the haters who had the same mentality as well.
Same happened with Brock Lesnar when the Beast bashed Dana White for calling wrestling fake in one of his tweets. During an interview in 2015, The Beast openly stated that both businesses did the same thing and Vince McMahon did it better than Dana White. “I think Vince McMahon’s better at it than Dana, and that might rub Dana the wrong way.”, said the Beast.
The Apex Predator was also seen in fumes when he got himself involved in the debate. Randy Orton started to target Soulja Boy after the rapper dubbed wrestling “fake.” The two exchanged heavy tweets before Orton called the argument off and stated that Bad Bunny could knock Soulja out with one hit. Orton wasn’t taking any misery out of the rapper and bashed him on twitter for calling Wrestling fake.
The Greatest of All Time John Cena had a wise answer to the question whether wrestling is fake or not. He made the points that the WWE does not even pretend to be authentic and that it is not for everyone. Therefore, there’s no use in pointing out what is obvious. ““When the company’s name is World Wrestling Entertainment, we openly say in the name of the company that it is entertainment.”, stated Cena.
Fans still have the craze and excitement for WWE which proves that the business is booming for the company. Regardless of people calling it fake, the world of professional wrestling is on the rise with some spectacular performances on display giving fans something to watch and get entertained.
