WWE Stars Mourn the Loss of 45-Year-Old UFC Legend Stephan Bonnar

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam on Twitter paid tribute to UFC legend Stephan Bonnar who passed away on Thursday, December 22nd.

"I always looked forward to seeing and talking with Stephen Bonnar at High Rollerz BJJ, he was a good dude. I think I’ll watch the Forest Griffin fight tonight to pay respects. RIP" Van Dam tweeted.

UFC announced on December 24th that the Hall of Famer has died at the age of 45 due to presumed heart complications at work.

“The UFC family is saddened by the passing of UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar. We send our sincerest condolences to his family" UFC posted on Instagram.  (h/t: deadline.com)

Bonnar played a huge part in popularizing the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2005 when he starred in Ultimate Fighter season one.

His fight against Forrest Griffin is regarded as one of the greatest fights of all time. He also faced several top fighters like Tito Ortiz, Anderson Silva, Job Jones etc.

After retiring from MMA, Bonnar stepped into the world of professional wrestling as well and his time with Impact Wrestling is still talked about by fans.

Professional wrestling stars Moose, Karrion Kross, MVP etc. also paid tribute to the MMA veteran through their social media accounts.
