The Royal Rumble ended with a bang. The audience witnessed stellar performances, unexpected moments as well as eye-catchy victories by their favorite superstars in this spectacular event.

The 30 men Royal Rumble found a new winner in the form of Cody Rhodes. Rhodes eliminated Gunther, who lasted from the beginning to the very end, displaying some magnificent performance.

Son of the late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, the highly proficient Cody Rhodes made his mark in WWE from 2007 to 2016 by capturing two Intercontinental Championships and six Tag Team Championships.

The American Nightmare returned at WrestleMania 38 as Seth Rollins' surprise opponent. He defeated Rollins making his comeback memorable. The duo again fought in the Hell in the Cell match where Rhodes competed with a torn pectoral muscle and defeated The Visionary.

In an interview with WWE Digital Exclusive after winning the Royal Rumble match, Rhodes revealed that he had suffered a new injury.

"Don't tell anyone, don't put it on a medical report, but I popped my eardrums. So, what a night not to hear that much. But I could hear them loud enough and it's a beautiful moment," Rhodes said.

Royal Rumble winner gets an opportunity to face the WWE Champion in the WrestleMania event and fans speculate that Rodes will be the one facing The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

However, with injuries catching Rhodes, it seems difficult for him to compete in the upcoming events. If Rhodes recovers and faces Reigns in WrestleMania, the match will be memorable for the audience.
