WWE on this week’s Smackdown did a five-way elimination match to determine the next number one contender for Liv Morgan’s Smackdown women’s championship.

The match had some big talents like Ronda Rousey, Natalya, Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans and Xia Lee but the match ended fast. Ronda in the end picked up the win by making Sonya tap out.

The rivalry between the two started when Liv cashed in her money in the bank briefcase on Ronda after Ronda’s match at the Money in the Bank premium live event.

The controversial finish happened during their rematch at Summerslam when Liv tapped out but the referee did not see it and awarded the win to Liv by pinning Rousey while her shoulders were down.

This received a lot of backlash from the fans as some said it made Liv look like a coward. Now WWE is planning to rectify that mistake by booking a rematch for the title.

Liv Morgan vs Ronda Rousey for the title has been made official and will happen on the Extreme rules premium live event on October 8th.

There are speculations that the plan is for Rousey to beat Liv and become the new champion and she keeps the title at least till next year’s Wrestlemania.
