WWE recently announced that the Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins will have UFC stars Daniel Cormier as the special guest referee.

When the match was announced, certain WWE fans expected the company to bring back one of their former stars Ken Shamrock in the role.

Shamrock who is a former WWE star and UFC star would've been a perfect choice for the role due to his background in both industries.

When one fan said on Twitter that they wanted Shamrock instead of Cormier, Shamrock was quick to defend WWE's decision by saying that DC is a great choice for the role.

He also said that if fans want him back in the WWE then Triple H and the company will try their best to make it happen.

Shamrock during the late 90s competed in a match similar to the fight pit which was known as the Lion's Den. His first match Lion's den match was against Owen Hart in Summerslam 1998.

The 58-year-old made his WWE debut as the special guest referee in the iconic submission match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Best the Hitman Hart at Wrestlemania 13.

Circled Dot

It looks unlikely that WWE will go back and sign Ken Shamrock as a full-time superstar but a one-off appearance for the former MMA star is something that could happen.
