CM Punk's Record Against Roman Reigns Is Fake News

There's a tweet/image circulating on the internet where CM Punk's title defenses are compared to Roman Reigns.

Most recently, Roman Reigns triumphed over CM Punk for the longest title reign in WWE history which previously stood at 434 days.

The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns crossed 1000+ days as WWE Champion which prompted WWE to introduce a new undisputed title.

According to the tweet, CM Punk defended his title a record 141 times in his 434 days as WWE Champion of the world.

The same tweet says Roman Reigns has defended his gold 28 times in his historic title reign.

While Roman Reigns' stats are correct, CM Punk's title defense record is absolutely false and for number of reasons.

In 434 days it is almost impossible for CM Punk to have defended his gold 141 times even if we count the live shows.

Punk's reign included 13 PPV defenses and how many times would he have defended it on TV? Not 125+ times for sure.
