Standing at 7 feet 1, Shaquille O'Neal was one of the biggest and heaviest players in the NBA, weighing from 325 to 400 pounds.
Due to his size, it is easy to spot O'Neal in public, and he is constantly surrounded by paparazzi every time he leaves his house.
No matter how famous you are, every now and then everybody needs a break from the paparazzi, and celebs try their best to avoid them by staying away from their eyes, which led to one of the funniest images on the internet surfacing.
When O'Neal was walking down a street in LA, he was approached by a man with a camera, who initially was trying to get a picture of another celeb walking down the same street; afterwards, when he panned the camera onto Shaq, he made a gag out of it and tried to "hide" behind a tree.
Obviously, Shaq hiding behind a tree made no difference, but he created a meme-worthy picture for the internet.
A few days later on the James Corden Show, O'Neal revealed why he tried to hide behind a tree.
“I was in Beverly Hills doing a little shopping and I saw the [paparazzi] walk by, because they were chasing somebody else. I didn’t want them to see me, but I couldn’t run since I’m too big to run, so I found that tree. I wanted to stay still and blend in.” said O'Neal
A small tree in a sidewalk planter would be a poor hiding spot for anyone. Shaq is the only one who can pull this off and make a meme out of it.
