Why Hasn't Serena William Played Tennis Since Wimbledon 2021?

In Wimbledon 2021 Serena was set to face Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round, however, what followed saddened every Tennis fan.

Serena Williams had to withdraw from the tournament after suffering a horrific ankle injury, and hasn't been seen on the court ever since.

Serena had slipped on the grass which led to the injury after which she soon left the court to receive treatment.

However, she came back to continue the match, and as she started to serve, it was evident that the physical pain was too much to beat for the then 39-year old Tennis star.

Serena Williams remain out of competition ever since.

Later Serena posted on Instagram "I was heartbroken to have to withdraw today after injuring my right leg. My love and gratitude are with the fans and the team who make being on the center court so meaningful."

Recently, the 40-year-old announced that after almost a year she will be back on the court.

In a recent talk, she said with Aaron Rodgers  “We’ve been talking about my comeback and he’s been hyping me up and getting me ready for Wimbledon.

She will be looking to end her drought period as the last time she won a Grand slam was back in 2017.

Serena Williams has won a total of 7 Wimbledon titles and will be looking to add another to the cabinet.
