Who Is Alex Antetokounmpo, Lesser Known Brother of NBA Star Giannis?

A Nigerian-born player, 22-year-old Alex Antetokounmpo, the youngest of his four elder brothers, Francis, Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas, who are professional basketball player like his brothers.

Eldest of the Antetokounmpo brothers, 35-year-old Francis started of his career as a soccer player for Nigerian and Grecian followed by his passion for music.

Alex other brothers are currently playing in the NBA. While Thanasis and Giannis are part of the Milwaukee Bucks franchise, Kostas is currently playing for the Greek Basket League team Panathinaikos.

The youngest of the five brothers, Alex Antetokounmpo, is a basketball player in the NBA G-League after going undrafted in 2021 and later joining the Sacramento Kings for the Summer League.

Alex's career in basketball, dates back to his 4-year tenure at Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, followed by his interest in playing overseas in Europe while preparing for the NBA.

The 3-star prospect after receiving a college offer from Wisconsin-Green Bay, failed to join the European League and went two seasons for Filathlitikos club in Greece, followed by his link to the NBA.

"I believe in myself, and I also know that I can greatly improve basketball-wise on every level. I am sure that my decision to play in Europe is the best choice."

"It will really help me in my plan to prepare myself in the best possible way. So, when I feel ready to take the next step, I will be totally prepared for the NBA."

Starting his professional career in Liga ACB, signing a three-year contract with the UCAM Murcia, Alex made his debut for the Spanish club in Liga EBA, scoring 26 points and 8 rebounds in the game.

Adding the third and youngest Antetokounmpo brother to its roster on September 2, the Milwaukee Bucks waived the 6-foot-8 small forward, making him a free agent for the upcoming season.
